Happy Thanksgiving! I am so Thankful...

So thankful that I have family coming for dinner. The gathering gets smaller every year as more of the last generation pass on but I am so grateful they can come and we can be together! NO one under 70+ and they all have supple minds if not supple bodies.

Thankful for my husband who puts up with my foibles. Thankful for my son who makes every day a new learning experience (sometimes stuff I would rather not learn :p)

Thankful for the community on here. Always an adventure!

Happy Thanksgiving all!

Well said, les. I think too many of us get blinded by everyday life. It's really nice to take time and reflect on everything we do have, instead of worrying about what we don't.

Thinking of those who can't be with family- those who have lost loved ones or who are separated. I know there are a few of you on here. Prayers for you.

For those traveling Be Safe!!

Happy TDay!

I'm thankful for having family to be with, for finding a great woman to be with, and all for knowing many of you all. And beer. Can't forget beer. ;)

Re: Happy Thanksgiving! I am so Thankful...

a Few years back I was pretty sick, got to the point where it was hard to give a **** about anything. I'm thankful I don't feel that way any more, glad some of my family and friends can come over today, eat, drink and watch football:)

Thankful for far too much to list here, but mostly good health, great friends and family, and a job that I enjoy and allows me to live a comfortable life. And beer, certainly agree with El Rube on that.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving! I am so Thankful...

every day is thanksgiving day for mookie :D
That's the way it should be. Unfortunately, too many people get caught up in the moment and lose sight of everything around them. Being one of the guilty, I know this all too well...

Re: Happy Thanksgiving! I am so Thankful...

I think I've mentioned this once in another thread, but I had a cancer diagnosis in April: Stage 4 Mantle Cell Lymphoma. So, I'm thankful that after 8 months of chemotherapy, scans, tests, biopsies, poking, prodding, care, concern, love, prayers, thoughts, ups, downs, fatigue, friendship, etc., etc., etc., I'm now in "remission" (no current evidence of the cancer). The doctors, nurses, aides, support staff, clinic and hospital here in GR have all been incredible. And, I'm going back to work.

I do appreciate this college hockey forum--it is a sometime outlet for me--someone who has followed college hockey on and off since I began school at NMU back in 1976.

Hope you're all having a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

And by the way, GO LIONS!!!

I am thankful for...

-My faith in God, which has kept me going through chaos.
-My amazing friends
-My family, even though we're not THAT close
-My cats and the crew at Faithful to Felines cat shelter
-Health and the ability to run.
-This board... always good for a laugh.
-And so much more...

Shirtless-very similar thoughts here. Especially thankful that a cat brain like me could have found a matching cat crazy woman. over the years we have rescued more than we can count and although over the years as they age we keep losing them, we are very grateful for the ones we have had and the ones we still have.(actually, with cats, we don't have them-they have us). My dad always said I should find a woman who can cook, a woman who had tons of money, and a woman who could screw my brains out. Well, two out of three hasn't been so bad. The money part we could always have gotten by working for it. Best wishes to all here on the board-there are some very special people hidden amongst some of these posts.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving! I am so Thankful...

I am thankful for the men and women in uniform, especially those who will be spending the holidays away from their families.

I am also thankful for the first responders who keep us safe. I remember all too well that I was on the train coming into Boston on the way back from the Frozen Four when a pair of terrorists set off bombs at the Marathon finish line. We weren't sure if we'd be getting into the city that night. We were stopped outside the city for over half an hour before we were allowed to continue. Just weeks before I had gone through South Station and it was a hive of activity. That night it was a police officer and me.

In those situations I would like to imagine I have the courage to run towards the danger, to keep my composure under fire. Those who wear a uniform for the armed forces or a first responder do things every day that we take for granted.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving! I am so Thankful...

I am thankful for family. I have a remarkable family.

I am thankful for friends. Throughout the years I have surrounded myself with amazing people. Time and time again it has reaped tremendous rewards.

I am thankful for a job. It enables me to provide for my family.

I am thankful for my ability to give back to my community. I volunteer for many things throughout the year. I also chair two non profit boards and I am truly blessed to be able to directly and also indirectly help so many different people.

Lastly, I am thankful for the power of miracles and prayers. Every day I am thankful for those.

I often wonder how different my life would be today if I had significant voids with family, friends, job, community, miracles and prayers.

Not wanting to go to work today but thankful to have a job because there are those that don't.
