My Father’s Day gift this year was matching framed copies of the Declaration and the Constitution for my office. My sacrifice is nothing compared to those who served (thank you!), but I do choose to work in defense to put my skills to use in protecting the aspirational ideals upon which our country was founded. Make no mistake - this still affords me a very comfortable lifestyle, but I have no doubt that I have given up multiple millions in lifetime earnings by not going into finance or consulting, and I couldn’t be happier with that choice.
