Hamilton College coaching vacancy

Williams, Anderson and Houk, would be devastating losses, but Houk should come back, he is a premier D3 player at an outstanding school. New Coach will build on Bazin's foundation, if recruits are strong like the last two classes and coach is good, they can still contend. For Hamilton's sake, I hope Houk stays.

Pretty sure that Houk is not bailing on Hamilton

Re: Hamilton College coaching vacancy

He should, as an All American, the connections he will make with hamilton alumni alone will make it worthwhile. Not to mention the friendships I am sure he has developed, sitting out a uear to play at UMass lowell, not something I'd do. If he stays they will be strong, i like the idea of a guy from West Point. NESCAC is a great conference, and next year playing everyone twice will make even better rivalries.

Re: Hamilton College coaching vacancy

Looks like Adam Stockwell will be the new Hamilton men's basketball coach.

Stockwell coached Oswego for two years and led the Lakers to their best season in program history this past season with a 24-5 record and making it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Tough loss for the Laker basketball program.

Ouch...Basketball at Oswego has been on the rise...both women's and men's...I hope this isn't too big of a set back....

I'd love to see them put a gym right on campus, instead of across 104, for the team. I think that would help the program become much more visible to the student body..

Two years ago I was told there is a desire to put a fitness center/ 2,500 seat gym type of building either adjacent to Campus Center or behind Penfield. It would take a big donor for that to happen because with the state's fiscal situation and the massive Piez Hall project (not to mention the townhouses) the university's resources are very limited.

Re: Hamilton College coaching vacancy

Someone posted it was the Army assistant around a week ago or so.

Rob Haberbusch has applied for the Head Coach position at Northeastern University, but I doubt he cares much about Hamilton.

It also possible that the Assistant Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach openning at Quinnipiac has impacted their search.

There has been some talk about playing some games in the Campus Center since it opened...it would take some scheduling - and the CC Staff would have to be able to demonstrate the ability to turn the facility and not impact the quality of the ice - which hasn't been easy with NO hoops thus far....

Plus the school would have to purchase a portable floor, hoops and have storage space for it all, which is another issue in itself.

I'd be all for a few select basketball games at the CC. I think it'd be great. But, the monetary factor is a big one.

I suggested that as a start - you can rent what you need and if the schedule for all involved is thought out, you can have a pretty nice run...but coordinating the schedules for four varsity teams plus the club teams will be a challenge...

Why would Haberbusch not be interested in Hamilton. I think they are a great match.

Think D-I vs. D-III. One the money is better and two who in the NCAA or College Hockey Inc gives a hoot about D-III??

If he were to transfer to Lowell, what makes you think he'd have to sit for a year?

A lot more job security in D3 . . . Just ask the most recent coaches of Northeastern, UMass-Lowell, and Providence!!!! When was the last time a NESCAC coach got canned for underperforming??
