Gun control 2 : happy 25th anniversary of Columbine

So you are suggesting that not reducing the number of innocent people getting massacred by guns is not a worthy goal. Got it.

Two injured people is better than 20, two deaths is better than 20. The fact that perfection is still your level of "wait to do something" means we will never, ever, change anything. Because you can't ban hands.

A person with a knife can't get on the top of a building and kill people that they see. A person with a knife can't go into a room and indiscriminately kill people- they have to be close to them, and people can move.

You are a moron if you honestly think that we should not control guns because there are other means to kill a person. Again, the ENTIRE POINT OF A GUN IS TO KILL WHAT IT'S SHOOTING AT. You can literally take any object on the planet and figure out a way to use it to kill someone.

My goal is to reduce total violence. Someone killed by a knife isn’t any less dead than someone killed by a gun. I think a lot of folks are missing the bigger picture on this(not exactly a first here.) As I’ve said before, I’m totally on board with people who are in a bad way not having guns, I just don’t see it moving the needle. And the goal shouldn’t be perfection as much as making a difference.

Why would a flag go up? You are celebrating these people and putting them on a pedestal instead of calling their mental illness what it is.
 
I can't understand how opposing gun control, and hugging semi-automatics, is the hill the rightwing culture wants to (literally) die on.

It is a combination of the greatest marketing campaign in history and the psychosis of a reactionary ideology that makes them willing to suffer self-inflicted wounds in huge numbers all so they do not have to admit they were wrong and liberal democracy is the secular successor to Christianity.

This is in its own way divine retribution, where the deity is Reality. The Right is the actual Sodom and Gomorra. Their morbidity is the pillar of salt.
 
I just learned the a friend of my wife has a child who was one of the injured victims in yesterday’s shooting at Annunciation church. My wife was freaked out by the shooting before, now it’s been turned up to 11.

Add to that, St Paul’s SWAT team just had to deal with a hostage situation at a house a little over a mile SE from my home. This forking week cannot end soon enough.

Celebrate? No. But we might get to hug our child that night instead of him being number 20 in a mass murder
