Gun control 2 : happy 25th anniversary of Columbine

Oh looky who showed up when there's one data point out of a million that supports his ridiculous narrative.

I can solve your so-called conundrum of what to do with "them," though: absolutely nothing. You don't do anything with them. What you do is BAN THE FUCKING GUNS, and then it doesn't matter that the streets are crawling with depressed, mentally unstable people. Depressed, mentally unstable people will always be with us - that's something we actually CAN'T do something about. Guns, on the other hand, are something we CAN do something about.

Problem. Solved.

One data point? Are you referring to the person being trans? I don’t think that is much of a factor. The much bigger issue is what do you do when someone has major mental issues? Even if somehow we were to remove all guns they could still inflict damage in plenty of other ways. And if you’re unfortunate enough to have someone like that in your family are you responsible for them financially and their actions? No one wants to have a family member like that but obviously some people do.

Everyone with a functioning brain knows this. We're past the point of no return - there is no legit use case for civilians to own semi-automatic anything.

But good luck getting that passed.

23. A 23 year old kid goes into a gunstore looking like a freak and walks out with an arsenal of guns and no flags go up, none.

23 is too young to be able to do that. I don't give a shit what anyone says. I don't give a shit that we send 18 year olds to war. It's too young.

Getting rid of guns only prevents 10% of mass shootings? Are the other 90% caused by people “shooting” blow-darts at crowds? How have I missed this blow-dart epidemic????

That isn’t at all what I said. If you have someone in as bad of way as the shooter taking guns away only solves 10% of the problem. There are still plenty of other ways they could cause harm to people. And beyond that how do you help them meet their basic needs? Is it down to their family or society? I’m completely in favor of taking their guns away but don’t think it solves the bigger problem.

And if the person was 10, 20, 30 years older they shouldn’t get a gun either.

flaggy used that same lame excuse after one of the mass killings of kids. As if the kids would have lined up neatly to be stabbed to death.

So you think that reducing mass deaths isn't good enough if you can't eliminate murder. Got it. Explains why our country's businesses are going in the toilet.

Guns are a problem because they make it too easy to kill a person, they make it possible to kill multiple people, and they make it possible to kill a LOT of multiple people at once. Unless you are gassing the room, you can't kill as many people that quickly using other means besides guns.

So if some mentally ill person stabs one or two people to death we’re supposed to celebrate that? Again, I’m completely in favor of taking the guns away but doubt it solves the problem.
