Can anything be learned about (at least per my perception) the reduction in mass shootings outside of the fact some of these *******s didn't have schools full of people to target the past 2 months?
The general held belief is that mental illness plays a large part and surely that is the case. And yeah with so many business also closed down there are fewer places to go after right? But these perps on the edge just waiting for something to cause them to snap did those triggers simply go away? Were they so fragile in the first place they would be led to shoot up a school, but with schools now closed they've had the wherewithal to keep it in check and not find another target? It's not as if there's NO where else to go to unleash their fury.
I'm not remotely in any place to come to a conclusion as I type this but I have to imagine this pandemic is creating dozens of opportunities for societal case studies that previously weren't considered.
