Given that I normally would lean toward picking a hockey player over a baseball player in general, this one was quite difficult. Ultimately, I felt that Orr was a greater athlete than Ruth. Ruth has great slugging numbers, he ranks 51st in Doubles, and surprisingly 71st in Triples. Ruth also managed 123 stolen bases, although he was also caught stealing 117 times. That being said, Bobby Orr was a tremendous athlete, fast skater, and an all-time great in his sport as well. Close call, but I'll take Orr over Ruth.
