Well prison isn't enough punishment, but yes, the Justice Dept does need to be busy in the new year. But sadly, nothing is ever going to happen to any elected official. Not graham. Not Moscow mitch. And not trump. People need to disabuse themselves of this notion or you are going to be even more sorely disappointed.

The American people have spoken and nearly 50% of them support lawlessness and an authoritarian regime here at home. What's worse, there are just enough people who voted for Biden and a few down ballot races the right way who still think republicans are redeemable, just frustrated. So if we go down some path where we actually seek a little justice and bring charges against people who deserve to answer for their crimes, the right will quite easily convince enough voters that they were correct to call us all a bunch of America hating socialists. At best we stopped the bleeding by electing Biden. At best. And come 2022, the House will be red again and this time around I don't see someone like John Boehner or even an only slightly nutty Paul Ryan as speaker. This time the republicans will go full fascist.

We're still short a couple hundred politicians throughout America if we really want real and meaningful change. Or we can have a revolution.

So...its super important and they need to do this now they just can't be bothered to actually write up and submit the complaint. I feel the judge will not look favorably on that.

edit: Oh man they got the judge that sentenced Nasser to 60 years in prison. LOL they are so screwed.

Well if he has someone smart in charge (likely not) they are saying to only count the big counties because it is the best chance to find any votes (he needs 20k and you aint finding them in the sticks) and keep the cost down without risking an Equal Protection claim.

In reality...they dont have enough money so since they are only claiming fraud where the Darkies live they will count there to keep beating that drum even when they are proven wrong.
 
Gore was definitely pushing for "targeted" recounts in certain FL precincts back in 2000, until SC(R)OTUS shut them all down, so I assume that's how it is usually done.

Yes and that is also why Gore screwed up. It isnt right to do a targeted recount in only areas that benefit you that means other counties are actually being aggrieved. (in theory) If they find enough votes to win it will definitely smell fishy. They needed a full recount to avoid such an argument.

This is the opposite of that. They are targeting the areas that likely had no chance of helping Trump. Milwaukee and Dane County are ridiculous Dem strongholds. If they find the votes there the Dems really can't make an Equal Protection claim since that is their base of operations. The Dems would need to prove fraud or lose the state. (since there wont be time for a second recount) Plus it then opens up questions in other states which would cause all sorts of chaos.

It is actually a pretty smart strategy but there is almost no chance it works. There was a better chance in GA. If they legitimately overturn the state numbers because of Milwaukee and Dane then either A) they cheated or B) they were right and the Dems cheated.

WI 6 votes is irrelevant at this point.

I'm sure WI would be happy to have $3M to pay the people to do the recount- that's $3M added to the local economies given to them by dumpy supporters. Not a bad deal, I guess.

They have 10...and it is all about sowing doubt. If WI is shady then they all are shady.

He lost...there is no stopping that now short of a full on coup. This is all for his whining on his 4 year "I was screwed" tour.

I think this really is trump's end game. He needs to monetize this failure just like he tries with all of them. He is simply laying what will be the foundation for the next few years. Maybe it is run for the presidency in 2024. Maybe it is groundwork for a TV network. Of course there is also the chance that trump is even more mentally ill than anyone let on and he actually BELIEVES he won but for rampant fraud.

The thing trump and his MAGAts don't seem to grasp is that if he were to be successful in convincing courts to allow him to seize power in a coup this country is over and he presides over next to nothing. And besides, most coup leaders don't live out the year after the coup anyway. So in that case, upside I suppose. And yes, Hovey, so you don't have to read between the lines, I wouldn't mourn trump's demise. I would feel just like I did when I heard bin Laden bought the farm. I wish the covid would have done him in. Even subsequent to the election he poses a threat to this country unlike any we've seen since World War 2 at least. He is an enemy of my county.

He wants to run in 2024 because he needs the money spigot to stay on. If New York doesn't find a way to jail him he's going to destroy the country from the sidelines. The Republicans were bad enough before Trump but now they're strictly maniacal.
