I'm not sure scheduling it for noon on a Saturday in November, in SEC country, is exactly optimal timing either.

If LG was a democrat there's a 50-50 chance he would have resigned over this ethical lapse. But BassAle is correct. There will be zero consequences. His voters don't care and mostly believe any margins for Biden in a state like Georgia are evidence of fraud. His republican colleagues in the Senate are not going to hold him accountable, although Susan Collins is reported to be concerned.
 
I wonder if the only "win" trump might have left is to concede (he won't use that word of course, he perceives it to be weak) in fewer days than Al Gore conceded. Then he can tweet about how much more patriotic he was than Gore. So we might have another 25 days or so.

What might speed this along would be for the press to forego the temptation to cover trump. Unless he does something at least tangentially connected to the day-to-day work of being president, ignore him. We know he'll spew lie after lie of rampant fraud. We know he'll encourage his cult to harm Michigan's governor. It's not news. So if he want's to be covered, make him come up with a new bit, like saying Biden is the president-elect, he (trump) won't be president on January 21, and he has set up a transition team. Other than that, ignore the stool that spills from his mouth.
 
These are the Americans -- the patriots -- who are counting your votes. Widespread voter fraud, especially at the level of federal elections, is every bit as much a myth as the Loch Ness Monster. I hope the morons who believe Biden received more votes than trump because people cheated rot.

1-25 now. Sure, we're not having a transition, and that's a problem. But the silver lining is that we get to watch Trump lose day after day for two weeks now. It's like Christmas in November!
