Grand Unified Election Thread 2: What is the difference between Biden and Dump?

I love tapper saying Biden’s talk tonight can’t just be directed at the kasich of the world- remember progressives and Minorities too

Just another indicator of the epic fail of Perez running the party. Trump in 2016 absolutely destroyed the Democrats because of digital.

He needs to be banished to a corner like Hillary

Tough needle to thread with three distinct groups, but if anyone can do it it’s him. Given the national crisis going on you would hope at some point our country would unite.

I really wonder - and this is just me speculating - if a lot of Republicans look at this situation as the best of all possibilities. Consider the following:
  • No one likes Donald Trump. No one. He sucks all the air out of any room he's in, and how many (establishment) Republicans silently resent that? They want him gone, but want the party to do well, so they played ball while they had to, and now they don't have to anymore. Most Senators think they could be president, but certainly not with Trump around.
  • Trump's absence allows them to (pretend to have been) be against him this whole time but claim the "good party soldier".
  • They got an extra SCOTUS or two.
  • They (probably) retain the Senate and gain seats in the house.
So in the end, many can claim that they're glad he's gone and he was a stain but they wanted to play good soldier and blah blah blah, but ultimately they got what they wanted - a fired up GOP base, 1-2 extra SCOTUS justices and didn't really lose any ground in the legislature. I wouldn't be surprised for more Republicans - conspicuously silent in the past - to open up on Trump now that he's a lame duck.

I am not foolish enough to think that the American people will punish them appropriately, but I hope that TLP is relentless for the next 2-4 years. Trumps collaborators need to be exercised from the party.

What makes me angriest about the "Socialism" rhetoric supposedly working is the utter hypocrisy. If you really think what the Democrats are selling is socialism then you go out and campaign against Social Security and Medicare. It's the same FUCKING thing.

I know it is petty to be bothered by this headline, but I am. Why not just "Biden takes lead?" Why the added editorializing? You win by 1 vote or by 100 or by 1,000,000 they still call you the winner. You lead by 1 or by 1000 you still lead. As well, we all know the final margin will be much, much larger than just a couple of thousand votes. Not a capital crime, but I didn't like it.

I don't have a problem with it. As you said, in the end a lead wins, be it slim or not, but it is slim.

Good god...when did it become news that different people from different areas arent always going to agree on the message. When is the media gonna start calling a spade a spade and recognize that what works in Detroit or Minnesota might not work in Texas and Flo(R)ida and having the caucus discuss that (even heatedly) is a good thing? This stinks more of the crap Politico would write not someone at WaPo.

The media's incessant need to try and paint the Dems as always one step away from imploding is almost as bad as their coddling of Trump and normalizing his BS for most of his presidency.

I dont. He isnt wrong but his reasoning is flawed. Trump is going to say the same things whether it is called or not...hell calling it might make him go louder and more forceful with it. Keep up the watch, keep drilling it home and make him more miserable...his response will be the same either way. When it is called I dont want there to be any doubt...and I want the YUGE numbers plastered all over the place in friggin Prime Time.

And I knew you’d be first person here to disagree haha
