It was the thousands of protesters, with all their signs, who came up with the "defund the police," and that is exactly what they wanted -- to defund and do away with the police department. Then, you had the halfwits on the Minneapolis City Council join in on the call.

But then, a day or two later, the 30% of your side that can actually think realized that's probably not such a good idea, and we'd never get it passed anyway, so that's when all the backsliding began, all of the "well, what we really meant was...."

Then turn off the pundidiots and listen to Rover! I saw an analysis where Biden will end up winning a little more than 220 congressional districts. Dems will win about 222-224 House seats? Coincidence? NO. There is very little ticket splitting going on. Since Chump found 10M more Nazis to vote for him, any seat where Dems were way over their skiis (SC, OK, UT, etc) reverted back to the GOP. Only Susan Collins decisively bucked this trend unfortunately for us. It's why Chump dragged Tillis to victory in NC and why Biden carried Peters over the finish line in MI.

Id be surprised if there's very many reps sitting in a seat that was won by the opposing party for President once all the votes are counted. That's good news to the extent that there should be very few vulnerable Dems running in places where they need a lot of crossover votes in 2022.

You're right. I just can't figure out how in the hell Dump found 10 million more Nazi's to come out for him. That's the part that confounds me. I thought he was sitting at about 40% and that's all he would get. But he somehow juiced the system. It's mind boggling. I like your good news and I hope you're also right about that.

Holy crap I was half kidding when I said Lady G. called...apparently I didn't give them enough credit.

If we had a halfway functioning DOJ Trump would be in some serious trouble. Barr of course is too busy sucking up to cops and making sure they don't listen to anything anyone says.

Time to burn them all down and put them all in jail. I dont care if it hurts the feewings of conservatives anymore they are actively trying to undermine everything this country stands for. (and their voters are applauding it openly) If you want to act like traitors feel free but there is a lot of prison cells waiting. They can let the Aryan Brotherhood protect them since that is who they appeal to anyways...

Hovey...you are high...seriously, "thousands of protestors" may have carried "Defund the Police" signs, but less than 5% of them actually wanted to "do away with the police department". It was a horribly worded slogan that should never have been used.

The same way Biden is going to get to 80 million. There is a lot of people who usually just dont vote and a lot of them did this time. We just gave the USA too much credit that the majority were smart or had a conscience. We also didnt think that many people literally hated America on its face.

The only explanation that makes any sense to me is trump himself was on the ballot. It really is a cult. A certified, dyed in the wool cult. I have little doubt that if trump went on TV today and told his followers to commit suicide because that is how they can get to the spaceship that will take them to trumpland, you would see millions of suicides.

His name on the top of the ballot drove turnout. His followers are too stupid to realize that even if trump was gone a republican house and senate can still thwart anything Biden would want to do now and so they failed to go to the polls in 2018. Motivated democrats knew what was at stake because those who vote blue have a much deeper understanding. We are not morons. Without trump on the ballot they all failed to show up.

I also think trump spoke for four years to the fascists and white supremacists who may not have been voting much in recent elections. One of their own was in the White House. Sure past republican administrations had taken policy positions that were sometimes racist in the application and results, as well as occasional authoritarian overtures too. trump actually speaks the words. Again, the average mouth breathing moron who votes republican can't discern this. They need someone with a bullhorn telling them their miserable existence is the fault of the blacks and the queers and the raping Mexicans pouring across the border. They need someone telling them that pandemic is fake, or will go away, or if it exists at all is the fault of the Chinese. And trump was doing it from the White House. They finally got a republican president to tell them in no uncertain words what they had been waiting to hear.

Had the pandemic started in 2018 instead of 2020, I think trump's and other republican's response would have led to the blue wave to end all blue waves, since trump was not on the ballot. Democrats had a great election anyway, and the pandemic been on voters' minds in 2018 in addition to trump being trump, I don't think there would have been a republican left standing.

BTW if you read about the call Trump made...he literally did the Mob threat we have joked about for months. "He is looking out for her welfare" sounds an awful lot like "You have a nice store here, it would be a shame if something bad happened to it...".

Thankfully she is so stupid she admitted it.

Oh, I understand it perfectly well. I told you back in June it was a stupid idea, I told you that legally it couldn't happen and politically it wouldn't happen, and all I heard back was how you didn't really mean to get rid of the police department, but instead we were going to see this big change in the police department. Less gun carrying officers, more social workers, etc...

Six months later, what changes have we seen? Oh yeah, Minneapolis is adding more gun carrying cops, according to the paper.

I like how Giuliani's statement saying Wayne County was "prematurely certified" means it was, in fact, certified. The best people!
