Grand Unified Election Thread 2: What is the difference between Biden and Dump?

RoJo is in a nut vise. Every phone call, email, letter, telegram, and smoke signal he gets tightens it. He is so far up the creek he's going to need orienteering gear just to find his office.

Which is why I suggested he either resign or walk into traffic. Either he does the right thing, or he doesn't know what he's doing anyway. Of course if he walked into traffic I'd just feel sorry for the poor bus driver who ran him over.

Justin Amash, whose politics were mostly wrong-headed, was one of the few republican politicians who called trump what he was. He, like others before him, paid with his position in the congress. His successor also appears to be cut from the same cloth.

I mean, we saw a number of senators and a handful of members of Congress change their perspectives. And I guess that's good, but it's not ideal. But what to me was the most bewildering was folks giving speeches that were written that morning as if we weren't in a body that had windows broken in just a few hours earlier, law enforcement drawing weapons. As if a woman hadn't been shot and killed 100 feet from where they stood, right? There was still dried blood out there. And they were giving the exact same speeches, the exact same arguments, telling what they thought their people wanted to hear rather than telling them what they needed to hear.

It would be nice if the spine he has showed in the last few days keeps growing. I'm not holding my breath.

"Walk into traffic" is the perfect metaphor. These dopes are already in a world of hurt but the second they start moving, in any direction, they are going to get splatted.

We have to make sure this stays the case. The GOP cannot be allowed to escape reaping what they sowed.

I try to be accurate but direct. I'm not writing like Heidegger but I'm not writing Short Attention Theatre either. No likey, no read-ey.

It isnt about liking it...I like it a lot actually or I would have blocked your long winded azz years ago ;^) You said you werent sure if you were writing wrong or if people werent reading it right and I am just giving you some insight into sometimes why you get the reaction you do. You sometimes sound like you are writing a lecture for a mid level undergrad class. That is why there is sometimes a disconnect between what you are saying and the reaction you get that you dont understand.

I know you hate that I am going to say this but we agree 99% of the time that is why our discussions are so much fun :^)

At the end of the day someone gave the orders for them to show up on January 6th and treat it like it was almost any other day. Those people are the ones who are complicit in the insurrection. The Capitol Police are actually generally well trained law enforcement, or at least as well trained as and state or local cops. Their training consists more on handling VIPs and terrorism protocols than perhaps Andy and Barney get in Mayberry NC but nowadays all cops are getting trained more in military tactics than they did 50 years ago. Point being, the U.S. Capitol police, with perhaps logistical assistance from Metro D.C. or even the D.C. Guard SHOULD have been prepared and equipped to handle things on Wednesday. As usual the front line people were expendable, and one paid with his life. Firing squads would be too kind if we could ever identify which members of the hierarchy were complicit.

This whole fact kills me. They "pretended" that this was some kind of surprise, even though it was known to the world weeks prior. And then having some of the apparently complicit is really galling.

The fact that they were so dumb to think they would get away with it via 1) they would be successful, or 2) not noticed with all of the cameras just tells me they are too dumb to have the qualifications of a cop. Let alone the idea that overthrowing the government this way is a viable way of doing things.

Saying they will all forget and nothing changes won’t lead to action. We need to keep our feet on their necks. Publicizing this (which others will continue to do) helps keep it in memory and if people start shifting, it does hurt them financially . Clearly ones like Comcast are harder, but if we do nothing, nothing changes

Agreed and I plan too. Some will be easier than others as you say but I havent been this fired up to spit in the face of Corporate America since I was a broke college student! ;^)

And Carnahan is married to Hagedorn.

As for the "revolutionary" nature of this thing- if there were factual, demonstrable issues that needed to be defended for, yea. But there have been ZERO facts to support the "steal". The one post that bugged me on another board was the idea that the courts intentionally didn't look at the data- when the court records clearly says that the data was not even presented. And when pressured to know what the charges were, fraud was consistently taken off the charges. They would not present that charge multiple times.

I wonder if anyone has found the same accused problems for AZ, GA, PA, and MI to see what dumpy states would also be disqualified. I thought I heard that at least on of the two Carolina's would have to be thrown out, too.

I am terribly long winded, I know that. A lot of my writing is getting my own thought in order. But I have also been misinterpreted so many times when I've tried to write apothegms that I now tend to spell it out, painfully.

I guess given the choice it would be better to be brief and risk being misunderstood.

So, given that, let me try to say all the above more succinctly.

OK.

Just remember, we all know the basics of where you stand on issues so your risk is minimal my friend :^)
