IL had a "Fair Tax" proposition on the ballot that would do away with the straight rate income tax and allow a graduated rate with increased income... That was rejected...

Just another example of how far we need to move to get the general population out of the DERP black hole...

Holy shit

It hasn't been called by my news source. I did hear that Fox News called it (weird) but the reporting I hear Trump could still pull it off.

I see. I don't have a news source. I saw 2-3 sites had it marked as a win. Probably all sourced from same place.

I saw BBC said projected turnout highest in 120 yrs... 67%. Sad.

Yep... The anti-campaign was run on fear and it worked...

IL is going to be quite a "civil war" situation for the foreseeable future... Chicago vs the rest of the state... And then you have the Chicago racist white middle class undercutting the Chicago vote...

It's gonna be a long slog to eliminate that....

When I say "my news source", I mean my favorite. Yes, AP and Fox have called it. But until it's universal I'm not going to believe it.

CNBC had Mick Mulvaney on again this AM and he said AZ is a "first in, first out state" when counting so the vote dumps are coming from day of and any deadline day arriving ballots.

But then he followed that up by discussing the Speaker rolls, and he wasn't sure if Nancy had enough votes to become speaker now that the dems finally took majority of the House. Not sure what bourbon he replaced his coffee with this morning, but he apparently blacked out midterm 2018 elections.

Not a surprise. Too many people with popcorn ceilings were spooked into thinking their taxes were going to go up because of it.

I voted in favor, but I didn't think it had a chance because the only support I saw for it was within the Chicago city limits. The 'Burbs were heavily against it.

That naming was really bad- as "Fair Tax" has been used as a kind of sales tax approach to taxing instead of income tax. Which is a horrible idea when you do the math. I wonder how many never looked into the idea as someone used previous proposals as terrible ideas to vote it down.

Then again, I have had conversations with R's who are convinced that there's an upper limit in absolute dollars that someone should pay taxes. Like when you make $100M/year, it's ok to only pay 15%, as that's enough. As if when you get rich enough, more is always better, even when you have no plans to actually use it.

They think there should be a maximum tax? I think once you hit a certain number your tax should be 90%. I'll give you the 10%.

So basically if Biden takes NV (currently ahead last time I checked with 75% reporting) he wins? Obviously Trump will fight the results every way he can, but NV seals 270 correct? Just freaking scary to think that of all the states remaining nothing is locked.

If your source has AZ called and you believe that, yes NV is all that’s needed.

No. Biden needs Nevada and one more state. AZ is not for sure yet. He needs one of AZ, PA, or GA.

Most outlets have not called AZ so he would need both NV and AZ to win. OR NV and GA. OR just PA.

I think those are Biden's paths.

I'll never be rich or super rich, but I agree in principal that there should be a limit to tax. It should be much higher than 15%, but I also don't think it should be 90%. That feels more like a penalty for being successful.

So whatever happened in North Carolina? I don't think I've seen a change in their vote totals since about 11 p.m. election night. They just give up counting?

If you're counting AZ as already Biden's, then yes, he just needs any other state including Nevada.

If you're not counting AZ as his yet, then Biden needs either PA or NV + any other state
