Gophers @ Tech Road Trip - Planning, Coordination, Taunting, etc.

Re: Gophers @ Tech Road Trip - Planning, Coordination, Taunting, etc.

Have fun guys (and gals), I love the new Mooch, but miss the old one. Enjoy your visit to one of the last great college hockey venues (imo).

Well, this is a loop around the Keweenaw, and we will be going to Brockway, its on our way. :p

I know and I didn't know that. I'll give them the speech. If there is a way for me to not drive that would be great. There is three of us total

Suomi's is a couple blocks away. Easily walking distance (there is really only one main drag in Houghton with most of the hotels/bars/etc).

Cool. I'm actually staying across the bridge in Hancock, but that won't stop me from hopping over for breakfast. Probably a good idea before a long day of drinking to get some food in me before starting.

Never having been up to Houghton before, how far is that from Travelodge? From what I've seen in threads and such, Suomi sure looks like the right choice for breakfast.

Bring quarters for the Subway.

I've got to quit reading this thread. Way too depressing I'm missing this and may never actually make it up there. :(

I can't believe it hasn't been posted yet, but where is the photo of Scott "controlling" two Gophers - one in each hand? Isn't that a mandatory post for this series, especially after last year's events in Minny?
Go Tech!

So is this party in Houghton a BYOG affair?

Holy crap and its only 1230! That happened to us when UMD was at Tech during Winter Carnival. Although that was because a couple ladies in our group skipped dinner.

Leaving early tomorrow with MEg, Broco and my buddy Eric. We are leaving early to make the luncheon.

How possible is it to leave the Twin Cities around 11:30am and still make it in time for the opening faceoff? Does the trip really take a full 6+ hours or could we push it and make it with a little time to spare?
