Political threads are both the most interesting and thought provoking threads...and worst too as frequently emotions enter after posters have a hard time talking to others with different opinions. Many other threads are so boring that its hard to be bothered saying something that really means nothing.

I will say perhaps the best thread discussion I have had was your posting of the definition of conservative.

I don't think you need to make it public but rather just stop posting...who knows when you'll find a very interesting topic. Having said that I'm done with this thread.

That wasn't my intention -- I was genuinely interested in people's view on political threads and why they are so delicious -- but the rise is maybe a not-shocking side effect, and it does defeat the purpose.

Since people are fond of divining hidden intentions: I look forward to everybody's posts on non-political topics. If somebody wants to take imagined political animosity and extend it into "real" life -- well, you can't please everybody.

Perhaps if that was your true intent, you could have simply created a thread titled along the lines of "Political threads, why are they so delicious?"

You have to admit, your titling of this thread and subsequent poetic recital does appear to have just a tad of "Look at me!" to it, doesn't it? I'm not saying that was your only intent either, but if your intent really was to see others opinions on political threads, you didn't foster that very well.
