The important thing is to get the ball rolling the other way. It was impossible under the former Gestapo regime to roll back anything without the "these colors don't run a-hur-a-hur" types wailing you were a traitor. Those ejjits still infest the GOP, so it was particularly good to see the impetus to STOP this also came from that side.

Will there ever be a gov't spokesperson who tells the public that ti's time to start panicking or rioting in the streets? What else do you expect them to say other than to remain calm and ignore what we do?

We're seriously supposed to be afraid of an agency with a $150M annual budget? Gosh, I sure hope they didn't find anything with the 50 cents they spent on me last year...

I am not arguing that the NSAC is good or even necessary, but it can't be doing that much harm.

NSA is at least 50 BILLION per year. If you want to uncover rampant abuses, that is still a better place to start.

In fact, and the article might have stayed this, it just means it's extremely efficient. Since it hasn't received the same scrutiny the NSA has, it may be easier to grow the budget very quickly. If it keeps getting results without oversight, do you think it will stay at $150?

The show has been great lately. Even Larry's been much better -- he's basically useless unless he's talking about race, about which he is amazing.

This is true. The Unholy Trinity is still causing 90% of our problems: CIA, DIA, NSA. Compared to them, even DHS is just a gnat.

It could be they funnel money from other sources - sort of like one of those Clinton bank accounts that has < $1,000 in it on the reporting date but takes huge deposits and funnels them right out to other parties.

A few reasons, really.

1) Because you can get a lot of an article in not only what's written, but what's omitted.
2) The jounralist actually did some leg work (or built upon others' work) to show what's been happening.
3) The writer does that without telling us that all TRUE PATRIOTS should kill or arrest all government workers on sight.
4) Aluminum hats are the gift that keep on giving.
