The nuance Major and others wish to apply to Muslim terrorists is singularly missing in any analysis involving, say, Tea Party people. The moronic mayor of NY suggested the motivation for this attempted attack might have been opposition to Obamacare, and Katy Couric just nodded her head at this unsubstantiated smear. Yup, that's it Mayor Bloomberg, some crazy white middle aged person assembled this bomb and left it in Times Square 'cause they're po'ed at Obama's overreach. Makes sense to me. Answer me this--are the previous 40 or so terror attacks or attempted attacks also Tea Party people or racist whites?

If true, totally kickazz. Funny because just a little while ago (read: hours ago) there was speculation that Obama had sent Clinton to tell the Pakis: either we start getting a little mo' hep on the Taliban-in-Pak, or folks in the tribal areas are going to start longing for the days of drone attacks. What she did say on the record was this.

Perhaps just a pile of coincidences. We shall see.

Man I hope this is true and I hope they string him up in Times Square after squeezing the information out of him. and a trial, I guess...

Actually, the fact that word has gotten out he may have been captured is probably a bad thing. If true, good we captured, bad that the news broke.

Yeah, I don't know, there seems to be some suggestion that we could have any terrorist we wanted on a platter by morning, if we could just get the Pakistanis to cooperate.

The Pakistani government's been pretty **** helpful to us, actually. It's hard to be our ally publicly when about 95% of your population hates us. Being India's BFF doesn't win us a lot of points with those folks either. Throw in the odd drone attack on My Emaciated Arranged Tribal Wedding, and we're about as popular as Osama is here.

So whenever they play ball with us it's risking either electoral death or literal death at the hands of the ISI. I might keep a few chips back in that situation as well. (And before the armchair patriots get their old glory panties in a bunch, explanation is not the same as justification, so don't go all false equivalence sanctimony).

Eh maybe, I still think if Osama's not dead (the most likely possibility IMO), people in Pakistan definitely know where he is hiding.
