Give Advice On Posts from The Grinding Gears Thread: Delicate Sensibilities be Dammed

Even sriracha is child's play if you ask me.

Ketchup on french toast?? No. Syrup goes on french toast.

I make a savory french toast, and ketchup, or a sun-dried tomato jam pairs surprisingly well with it.

Chili Pepper Heat Ratings in Scoville Units

In 1912 Wilbur Scoville, a pharmacist for Park Davis created a scale for pepper hotness. It was based on the amount of dilution it would take for the pepper to be unnoticed by a taster.

The link shows a variety of peppers based on this measurement.

The hottest one listed was from India, Bhut Jolokia, with over 1 million  Scoville units.

# 2 on their list was habanero, at 300,000 SU.

Jalapeno checks in at 55,000 SU, and cayenne at 40,000 SU.

oh, yes....their advice: if you eat a pepper that's too hot for you, don't drink water, drink milk.

Their list is incomplete. It's missing the Guatemalan insanity pepper.

A spoonful of plain sugar also helps. I have had the Bhut. Yes, it's friggin' hot. Even salsa made with the Bhut (so it's diluted) is friggin' hot. I like it, though. It still has some taste.

And I mis-posted earlier on {PROVICED. I remembered the quote today, because of the triple negative:

KICK {PROVICED OUT OF HOCKEY RAST! THEY HAVEN'T NEVER DONE NOTHING!

Full fat yogurt is better than milk.

Re: Give Advice On Posts from The Grinding Gears Thread: Delicate Sensibilities be Da

Yogurt is worse than milk, milk is worse than chili peppers, chili peppers are worse than French toast-less ketchup, French toast-less ketchup is worse than the pointlessness of this thread.

Would love to be able to drink milk. :(

Re: Give Advice On Posts from The Grinding Gears Thread: Delicate Sensibilities be Da

I have always liked my french toast savory, not sweet. Sue me.

Maybe I will. What's your lawyer's number?
