Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4
Obnoxiously loud coffee slurping.
For ****'s sake, if its too hot, let it cool down.
Okay, so this one goes a little deeper.
The offender is a salesman who I share an office with. We work in a remote office, just the two of us, and I'm pretty sure he was accustomed to having the office to himself before I came on board last fall. (Oh, and he's the owner's son, and my boss's little brother, so take all of what follows with a there's-probably-not-much-I-can-do-about-it grain of salt.)
It's not just coffee. Dude slurps whenever he drinks anything. Coffee? Soda? Water? In a cup? In a can? Hot? Cold? Doesn't matter. Every single thing he drinks, I have to hear a loud, obnoxious slurping noise coming from five feet over my left shoulder. The worst is when he has any sort of slurp-able food. Soup? A side of baked beans when he brings leftovers from home for his lunch? Not only does he slurp whatever liquid enters his system, but either (a) I am way too sensitive to noises or (b) this guy has managed to make plastic silverware scraping against yogurt cups, bowls and tupperware magnify in sound.
Also: he takes almost all of his calls on a loud speakerphone. And he's pretty constantly running things by his boss, his brother, the customer care lead, etc. And he is prone to just plain talking a lot, or asking me what I think about some stuff that happens while he's in the sales process with a prospect. And he likes to sing to himself (poorly, and he rarely knows more than one line of any given song, so he just sings that one line over and over again).
Don't get me wrong, he's a pretty nice guy, I otherwise like working with him and we work well together when he needs me as a technical resource while he's on the road. But holy smokes does this guy have a bunch of habits that drive me up the wall.
