For those keeping track at home... My bruise is almost gone, although the pain has come back, which is quite strange...

Hey now... it's the Tech girl in this thread and the Sioux girl in this thread making those kinds of comments. The NMU girl has none of that. at the moment.

You know what? I think the institution should sponsor student road trips to all the away series'. Having 20-50 students, on average, at every away game would be worth it. But maybe you think I am just smoking crack. And maybe you'd be right. But it would be awesome.

Would The Institution also provide an alcohol fund in this proposed plan?

I'm sure Coach Russell would support this. Good luck squeezing any more money from the Institution though.

Mitch's Misfits bus??!?
Perhaps some alumni should donate an old school bus to be retrofitted into a Party Bus for away games. It shouldn't take much work for the Engineers of MTU to have that sucker the envy of any NASCAR crowd. A rooftop porch with the rails sturdy enough for people to lean on, a sink with running hot water, a toilet, a fridge or three to keep the beverages cold, a small stove to fix up some snacks, rear tailgate grilling area, a fairly decent sound system that if you wanted to, the whole parking lot would hear you, maybe a flatscreen TV mounted to the side of the bus so that you could watch other games going on before yours, or to hook up a game system so that you can play Drunken Guitar Hero in the parking lot perhaps, and a few bunks in there to people to crash on. Then, its just a simple matter of making sure somebody within the Mitch's Misfits organization always has a CDL on them so they have plently of people to drive the bus. I would say getting about two drivers per class should keep the Misfits with plenty of available drivers for roadtrips.

You mean a motor home?

Might be cheaper to just buy one...

We looked into it for the Pep Band actually :D The problem comes in funding maintenance and a place to put the dam thing though, when we're not trucking around the Upper Midwest. (That, and the Pep Band was waaaaaaay too large to fit in just one bus, even then. :o) It might be workable for the Misfits though, especially if you keep up your non-profit status cough cough Yager lazy SOB cough cough. :p

Re: GET IN THE VAN! Michigan Tech 2009-10 Season Thread, Part Deux

Jamie's post game notes:
at a loss with early penalties
NO isssue with Kivisto hit
Soley's was a lazy penalty
Tommy Brown, lazy penalty

Our goaltenders weren't sharp
Tough to create offense with 9 D men playing, 3 are playing Forward
We gave up 2 PP goals on the rush, mental mistakes
Big difference with youth and imaturity, thought some guys were immature
Some of our D men struggled, Carl N., Ricky D. both struggled

Nice to see Dobson score a goal

Re: GET IN THE VAN! Michigan Tech 2009-10 Season Thread, Part Deux

merciful our internet connection died in the third.

better luck tonight!! a split on the road wouldn't be bad.

Re: GET IN THE VAN! Michigan Tech 2009-10 Season Thread, Part Deux

I'd be happy if they at least turned up and played 60 minutes. Not sure what the heck is going on, but these guys are better than they sounded in the first period last night.
