Gender Studies I

Yesterday my "buddy text thread" got to whining about trans people again. It's genuinely not worth engaging, so I didn't, but good lord. The act, though, is basically "they're impacting my rights by forcing me to accept them." As if recognizing that a human is a human is such an imposition on someone. Unreal.

As a queer, being straight was pushed on me as a child. And Mom wasn't too fond of me expressing femininity either. When she discovered me wearing nail polish, she wasn't thrilled.

Half of trans people live in Nazi states?

Huh.

Don't move because your politicians are terrible. Move because your state is terrible.

Interesting. Why would this be?

Transgender people experienced the highest rates of long COVID.

I’m going to assume that all the legal, familial, and cultural bigotry have marginalized transgender people to such a degree that they lack access to medical care, economic resources, and personal support networks that are critical to resolving chronic health issues.

in other words, it’s probably your fucking fault.

Well that was a dumb ass response.

Anyway, if anyone is at “fault” it’s your participation in the State/Corp led Fascist “movement” that isn’t doing any favors to others.

But back to the original question at hand.

For starters, Long Covid is a crock of shit. The rest starts to fall into place after that.

Most of my trans friends were stuck in "essential" jobs in Peak Pandemic, having to deal with The Public engaging in Public F-ckery.

Tell that to my cousin, a healthy college athlete who went into a coma with COVID and is still in a wheelchair 3.5 years later.

Probably all in her head, huh?

Could you be any more of a dick?

There seems to be a lot of missing context here…

3.5 years ago puts things towards the beginning of Covid. Which means during a high period of ventilation. Plus you mention coma. So was your cousin ventilated?

Thank you for your concern. Her actual bout of COVID was normal/mild and she had fully recovered from that, so by the time she went into a coma a few weeks later, her respiration was fine and no ventilation was ever required.

Swing and a miss. Care to try again, counselor?

Sure. it had absolutely nothing to do with Covid.
