There's nothing worse than someone who refuses to get into the intersection to make a left. As long as you don't block traffic, no big deal.
Come on ladies, the challenge is on! If you have a man in your life who helps bring balance to your world, who isn't perfect but he's perfect for you, who to grow old with, who you are thankful for and truly adore, let him have a moment and put this as your status. (Copy paste this status and add a picture!)
This trend that has popped up on Facebook today:
I have no idea what spawned this. At least it's not as bad as that "X likes Y, X does not Z. Be like X" meme that went around.

Gear Grinder: People who constantly interrupt others during conference calls. Yes, at a high level, everything we do is very easy. No, once you get into the details, it does not stay nice and easy. If everything we did was that easy, then this conference call wouldn't have been necessary at all. And you would understand this IF YOU'D STOP ****ING INTERRUPTING EVERY GOD DAMMED SENTENCE SOMEONE ON OUR END SAYS!
"in order to complete line 45, attach form 6251"
"in order to complete form 6251, line 4; complete worksheet in instructions."
"in order to complete form 6251, line 6, see instructions"
"instructions for form 6251, line 6: see instructions for form 8801 to determine whether you need to file form 8801 with your return."
at least it's not as bad as when we couldn't sell our house when we moved, and rented it out for two years. How can anyone who owns rental property hope to do their own return?
egads. Here is my simple solution for federal income tax reform: every Congressional representative and every Senator must personally complete their own income tax returns by hand, no assistance, no computer: only a hand-held calculator, paper forms, pencil, and IRS instruction booklets. No other resources, no outside help of any kind.
State governments claim to have graduated income tax rates, but then they negate their value if you live in one state and work in another (and so I have income in two states and pay tax on it to both of them).
Each state has you calculate tax on your entire income from both states, and then pro-rate it. Which means that, even though each state has graduated rates, each one of them bumps you into a higher bracket than you "deserve".
and I am fully familiar with FDR's quote: "Taxes are the price you pay for living in a civilized society." I don't mind paying a certain level of taxes, particularly at the municipal level, because I recognize the quality of the service I receive in return. It's that the state squanders money on silly frivolous things, and the feds are even worse: why do we have 48 different federal jobs training programs? that is about 4 programs per each cabinet department. how can anyone properly supervise such nonsense!
In other words, say you have income of $xx,xxx overall, 1/2 $xx,xxx in each state. rather than calculate the tax on 1/2 $xx,xxx in each state, each state has you calculate the tax on the entire $xx,xxx and then divide the tax in half. So if the tax bracket for 1/2 $xx,xxx is 6% and the tax bracket on $xx,xxx is 7.5%, you are paying 1.5% more in each state on that extra 1/2 $xx,xxx. On top of that, both states phase out deductions and exemptions by income level, and so rather than have the deductions and exemption associated with 1/2 $xx,xxx, you get the lower amount of deductions and exemptions associated with $xx,xxx in each state as well. So both of them hit you for extra twice on half your income.
I was already not looking forward to having to do multiple returns starting next year. I started a new job in February with a high percentage of travel. I am required to report my hours by state, and presumably I will get a crapload of forms mailed to me next tax season and will have to submit a return for each state.
Agreed. That $12,300 from $20 million is less than 1% of their income. Big freaking whoop. Why don't you just use turbo tax and stop whining?
Welcome to the world of entertainers and athletes! Pro athletes file returns for every state in which they play (that has an income tax), pro-rata for the number of days there.
The new fountain pop machines. I thought they were gonna be great. "Oh my god, Coke and Mr. Pibb, and Fanta at the same time? What a great idea!"
But the last four times I've used such a machine has been a mix of about 90% 7up and 10% Coke, even when I've selected Coca Cola Classic. The future is upon us and it is not a utopia.
The difference is, those guys can afford an accountant to do the work for them. I probably could too, but I am cheap and so I'll have to spend 3-4 hours on TaxACT to put everything in order. #FirstWorldProblems![]()
