Game of Thrones Season 6: Lions and Wolves and Sand Snakes, oh my!

I figured it was Snow because Ned openly claimed him as his bastard but never told anyone who the "mother" was or where she came from.

Re: Game of Thrones Season 6: Lions and Wolves and Sand Snakes, oh my!

I think we're done with any introducing. The final six episodes are going to be all tying up loose ends and killing people, and that is just peachy. MOAR DEATH PLZ!

We should have a "who lives" contest. List say the 25 most important currently "living" (Jon Snow and the Night King count) characters and pick which ones are still in operational order when the last episode ends. No book learnin' allowed.

I'm a tyro compared to some here, but I'll do it as a multiselect poll if we can agree on a list.

Daenerys Targaryen
Jon Snow / Aegon Targaryen
Tyrion Lannister
Cersei Lannister
Jaime Lannister
Sansa Stark
Arya Stark
Bran Stark
Jorah Mormont
Sandor "The Hound" Clegane*
Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane*
Gendry (uh... Baratheon?)
Samwell Tarly
Theon Greyjoy
Bronn (Jaime's bromance)
Varys (the bald adviser)
Tormund Giantsbane
Brienne of Tarth
Missandei (Dany's slave lady)
Melisandre (the red witch hottie)

I love that "Cleganebowl" is a thing now.

Define "operational order".

Here are the list of characters* left** sorted by # of episodes appeared in:

Buffalo. Game over.

There are hundreds of other podunk towns with just as much pain as Buffalo. Granted, few of them are as all around unpleasant from a standpoint of people and climate as Buffalo.

I would say we need to go deeper than 25, and I wouldn't simply use number of appearances to judge whether a character should be included or not.

Re: Game of Thrones Season 6: Lions and Wolves and Sand Snakes, oh my!

Actually, I'd propose not having any limit on characters, as long as they are named, and doing a fantasy draft. 5 rounds, 10 people. 1-50 points for every named character your character kills, dependent on draft position. Your character dies, you are out that character, no replacing.

For example: You draft Aegon Targaryen (Jon) #1 overall. Kepler drafts Night King #3 overall. Night King kills Aegon, and Kepler gets 50 points.

I've watched every episode of this show and I had to look up about 20 of these, most of which were "oh, yeah, I remember that as-shole. Isn't he dead?"

I still have no idea who Harry Strickland is, even after looking him up.

Bran is way overrated. I'd pencil him in at #50.

I wouldn't pick that one until you know that he's actually being cast. They might merge Daario into the "sellsword hired by the Golden Company by Euron and Cersei" after he got bored watching over Meereen.

With six episodes left, that might be more interesting.

Harry Strickland would definitely be more of a speculative pick. He could potentially rack up a bunch of kills, but as you say, he could also never show up in the game either. But, with the Golden Company getting quite a few mentions towards the end of last season, it is definitely a possibility. There are others listed there that haven't been in the show yet either, like Hodor wight, and Lady Stoneheart.

Re: Game of Thrones Season 6: Lions and Wolves and Sand Snakes, oh my!

If Bran wargs into something else, and then kills someone, then that's Bran's kill, IMO. That is why I have him where I do.

That position complicates scoring, biggly. Given that take on Bran, who gets credit for a dragon's kills when the commands really come from Dany/Night King/Aegon? The dragons should probably be where they are if they get credit no matter what, if they only get credit for solo kills they took the initiative for themselves they would be near the bottom. Does the Night King get credit for kills by other Whites/wights as they seem to be more or less under his control? Now that I've said all this, what are the rankings even based on? Dany at #2 implies you think she will be racking up kill points, and that seems unlikely. And yes, I am waaaaay over thinking this :)

Re: Game of Thrones Season 6: Lions and Wolves and Sand Snakes, oh my!

I think a deadpool is much cleaner than a kill pool, and it avoids all these problems.

I was thinking about this yesterday too, as I was making my list. The conclusion I came to was that some kills need to be split between 2 characters. For example. Dany rides Drogon, and roasts someone, Drogon and Dany each get 50% of the points for that kill. Also, if you use last episode as an example. Sansa orders Arya to kill Littlefinger, each get 50% of the points, because one made the order, the other did the deed. Does that make sense? If Bran is warging into someone/thing, then that being no longer has its freewill, it is being completely controlled by Bran, so Bran gets 100% of the points.

What about a modified loser pool? Everyone picks five characters who they think will die in Episode 1. If at least one of them dies, you move on. If they don't, you're out. You can't pick repeat people.
