Posted by a friend of mine:
No real Thrones spoilers here but prediction...next week we'll find out the Night King is actually headed towards Kings Landing. The divided Walker horde will overwhelm both Winterfell and KL, driving both houses to the Iron Islands. The Greyjoys will sort that situation, as well as the Cersei story, out there and they'll all regroup to mount one last offensive vs the white walkers. In summary, humans face two major losses, iron throne sorts out before Night King dealt with, then Night King story resolved.

Seems plausible with all the Greyjoy talk, etc?

I don't think it was even Maisie Williams' body. To me it looked digitally worked in that scene, where they put Maisie's head on another actress's body, like they did with Lena Headey during Cersei's walk of shame.

The news stories didn’t make it sound that way at all...

According to Williams it's her. Basically, every slightly pudgy 20-year old white girl on the planet. Pendulous, paler than pale. Well, the world needs washer women too.

I didn't read any stories about it

All the gossip blogs were breathlessly reporting on her. I had no idea what her name was and thought at first she was that New Age Oprah chick who's running for President.

Rewatching last week's episode it occurs to me that in her quest to lose her virginity, Arya went to the Hound first.

You're welcome for that mental image.

The Night King led 28-3 in the third quarter....

What did Jon Snow accomplish?

Glad I don't have to clean up Winterfell after that. It must reek (sorry Theon)

That's why they want to conquer King's Landing, no one wants to live at Winterfell anymore.

Maybe I’m focusing on the wrong things but was anyone else asking why didn’t the actual White walkers have more of a presence or where were all the Wight giants? Perhaps the goal was to completely overwhelm you with the power of the Night King’s Army with those features and show that even with just all the zombie wights he was still nearly unbeatable.

I also was bracing myself for losing a lot more main characters.

Subverting prophecy, I guess? "Azor Ahai, the Prince that was promised" went from Stannis, to Jon, to Jon and Dany to " Hey, Arya, go kill the Night King". I'd say Melisandre was so **** at her job that I wonder how she managed smoke babies, lighting fire swords, and raising the dead. If that's really the end of the Long Night/War for the Dawn, it's obvious they were just ashamed to have to deal with fantasy tropes and wanted to get back to politics with dragons as nuclear weapons.

I'll watch the rest because it's almost over and I'm never going to get another ending, but I have no expectations of competence.
