It's true that the sparrows aren't perfect, by any stretch. Especially when we apply our modern perspective on their views on homosexuality. But I defy you to tell me that the Faith Militant upending the crown isn't preferable to smallfolk than having them constantly at war over the petty whims of their feudal lords.

The path towards freedom for smallfolk doesn't come from continuing to be subject to the highborn. It certainly wasn't in medieval history.

IOTL the path to freedom was the tension between the aristocracy and the church. Each is a paralytic when taken straight. Having them constantly thwart and undercut one another is what created the cracks in the wall where freedom germinated.

Season 7 likely to be delayed.

Filming is being delayed because now that it is winter on the show, they want to film when the weather is colder, and more dreary. Makes sense, but sucks that we'll have to wait even longer.

I rewatch everything an episode a night (or so) until the new season.

We're 107 days away from the season premiere. There are 60 episodes outstanding. If you want to watch them all and end a day before the premiere, you'll have to begin on May 16.

Thanks!

You saved me doing the math this year. I'll buy you a beer if we ever cross paths. :)

Oh, I should mention, if you start re-watching the whole series one episode a night on 5/16, that gives you 2 nights of cushion until the season premiere. You know, so you can have a social life. :)

Ugh. I can't believe I'm considering taking Monday 7.17 off.

:)

The Watchers on the Wall gets me every time. :(

ETA: The following episode isn't easy either.

So I'm almost back to the Battle of the ********. The whole season is as good as I remember. It's just so perfect.

There's been some remarkable high points, but I'm not sure there's been a better overall season since S1 and S2.

Maybe S... 4?

Since GoT will have a shortened season 8, HBO is asking that each episode be around 80 minutes in length.

While the number of episodes has shrunk, with seven slated for the upcoming season and just six for the yet-to-be-produced final batch, Season 8, the length will likely move toward feature range of 80-plus minutes next season, according to sound designer Paula Fairfield. She said Season 7 episodes will be their customary hour-long duration, but the finale of Season 7 clocks in at 82 minutes. In Season 8, the episodes could be in the 80-plus-minute range of a feature film, as series like Sherlock and Black Mirror have done.
