Game of Thrones - Season 4: Who Is Jon Snow?

Re: Game of Thrones - Season 4: Who Is Jon Snow?

Cool! Now that some Stanford paleontologists have mapped out Westeros/Essos geology - can't get anymore legit than that, right?

Hey do I rightly sense there's some real Stockholm Syndrome thing going on between Brienne and Jamie? Forgive me ... but I'm now down to the last 4 episodes of Season 3 so if this is old hat ...

I think it's more mutual respect now, even if things never becomes overly civil between them. They both know the other is dangerous with a sword, and both being warriors they've formed a bond. After all, Jamie knows that Brienne could have treated him much more harshly than she has. I'd write more on this, but that might give away stuff you've not seen yet.

Despite their obvious differences, they eventually start to see what sort of honor exists in each other, and that drives a respect between them.

Jaime's development into a likeable character is fun to watch. Especially when he starts off by throwing a child out a window and ****ing his sister.

Funny how that works. It is remarkable, especially when one considers that he was probably right to point out how much more honorable he was to stay true to Cersei than Ned Stark was to (allegedly, since we still haven't heard the full truth of Jon Snow's parentage) father a bastard after he married Catelyn and we still never felt much sympathy for him until his adventures with Brienne.

Also, the Mad King had it coming. More so than even (SPOILERS) Tywin will have it coming when Tyrion wastes him with a crossbow.

I'm wondering what part of the War of the Roses George RR Martin based that off of.

Re: Game of Thrones - Season 4: Who Is Jon Snow?

I read somewhere a long time ago that while it seems Jamie is more likeable now, he really hasn't changed any from that guy we first saw. That there's no conscious effort to portray him as more likeable, just that you're seeing more of his character being revealed. Don't forget that this is the same guy who snapped his cousin's neck like a twig so he could escape imprisonment. That said, I just love him and Brienne together, their scenes together were the best of last season.

You did sorta feel sorry for him though when Cersei made it clear that there would be no honey for him now that he's back.

What I'm getting from this is, Jamie is becoming likable.....soooooo, he'll probably get his head chopped off by the end of the season. :p

You know, that's not too much of a deviation from what George RR Martin usually does.

Re: Game of Thrones - Season 4: Who Is Jon Snow?

Every time you complain about waiting for the next book, he kills another Stark.

That needs one of those meme photos, like with the killing of kittens.

"Every time you complain about how late the books are, a Stark dies"

Re: Game of Thrones - Season 4: Who Is Jon Snow?

Now I wish I would have read the books! You knew it was coming, but I didn't see Joffrey getting killed on his wedding day. Whodunit?

Re: Game of Thrones - Season 4: Who Is Jon Snow?

No matter how attractive she is, I would not get married to Maergorie Tyrell. Every man she marries finds himself dead within a day.

Re: Game of Thrones - Season 4: Who Is Jon Snow?

Oh, and as for the whodunnit bit, my money is on Petr Baelish because he's been so quiet lately and known to be subversive, even if he hasn't had any screen time yet this season. Martell is too obvious, but also wouldn't have the chance.
