... although Clarkson isn't exactly a power, despite the storybook Olympic year run to the title.
You'd have to count Beanpot titles before BC would have a more impressive resume. Clarkson=power or else there is no such thing in the East.

Hey look, yet another team that has to fly out west to play Minnesota or Wisconsin without a return date!*

They like to come out here so they can play in front of more than 50 people a game.

Mankato will have played Minnesota and Wisconsin a combined 8-13 times should they make it to the final, plus Duluth and Ohio State another 8+ times. That in and of itself doesn't mean they would be favored in the final against whoever they would play.

speaking of Mankato, they gave St. Lawrence all they could handle
you know, the team your team tied

Awaiting tonight's BU@Cornell tilt....

Re: Fun With Numbers '14-'15: USCHO Posters Poll, Pairwise What-Ifs, and Other Goodie

1 Boston College -- I was going to move Minnesota up had they swept Wisconsin. It's really close.
2 Minnesota -- Definite #2 now.

3 Wisconsin -- Minnesota is solidly in 2nd now but 3rd place is not close.

4 Quinnipiac -- Sticking around
5 Harvard -- On quite a streak. Clear #5. One QU slip up away from being #4.
6 Boston University -- They put a scare into BC but then barely held off Maine? I don't know, man.

7 Minnesota-Duluth -- Split against Bemidji -- again -- they are solidly below the top 6.
8 Clarkson -- Nice weekend, especially tying the resurgent Cornell.
9 Ohio State -- Definitely deserves to be here.
10 Mercyhurst -- Idle. Both in terms of not playing anyone this weekend and in terms of them not really having their foot on the gas.
I'm going to leave this the same despite BU getting rolled by Cornell. Maybe move BU closer to UMD positionally lol.

Re: Fun With Numbers '14-'15: USCHO Posters Poll, Pairwise What-Ifs, and Other Goodie

1. Boston College - they are so good, why can't we just schedule a pond hockey game v Minn now?
2. Minnesota - ditto, v BC now?
3. Wisconsin - such a good team, sucks to be the Avis of the WCHA... wouldn't mind seeing a BC v Wisconsin pond tilt too
4. Harvard - much better since Dec 1 and now my favorite to win ECAC
5. Quinnipiac - better than last year, but need scoring to beat teams above
6. Minnesota-Duluth - solid and would like to see a QU v MD game to settle the placement
7. Cornell - nice couple of months, the losses to MD were a bit closer than the scores
8. Ohio State - an unexpectedly great year and my favorite story of the year so far
9. Boston University - never believed they were a number 4
10. Clarkson - strong top lines, lack of depth makes for a roller coaster season

I don't understand anyone putting CHA teams in top 10 at this point.

Re: Fun With Numbers '14-'15: USCHO Posters Poll, Pairwise What-Ifs, and Other Goodie

Fun:

That whole MN-BC pond hockey thing? Minnesota is only going to agree to it if they get to have Keller on their team.

Numbers:

Cornell - 6-2
Minnesota - 5-2
BC - 4-3

Re: Fun With Numbers '14-'15: USCHO Posters Poll, Pairwise What-Ifs, and Other Goodie

Don't forget about BC's 6-2, 6-2 in straight sets...

I'm more inclined to remember these aggregate numbers...

Minnesota 15-1
BC - 4-3
Minnesota may also consider the pond hockey thing if they get Skarupa on their team to play on a line with Brandt and Cameranesi.

Well one CHA team is going to end up in the Top 8 at the end of the season no matter what, since they have an auto bid now. And really there aren't 10 teams that are actually "Top 10" caliber teams this year but someone has to go in the remaining spots.
