Re: Fun With Numbers '14-'15: USCHO Posters Poll, Pairwise What-Ifs, and Other Goodie

Minnesota plays a series with SLU in January, so that's when we'll learn if the Eagles' results versus the Saints were good or bad in the BC/UM PairWise comparison.
Yes indeed. That'll be interesting. Though given BC's shot totals this weekend I'm not too optimistic of the Saints' chances.

Re: Clarkson. I think they go for it in Olympic years when the superstars are off with their national teams.

They can try but let's be realistic here.

I was actually fortunate enough to chat to Brian Durocher at the start of the summer, and he said that he'd picked Clarkson and Quinni to overperform as they had the best teams who hadn't lost anything to the Olympics. Seems like a good rule of thumb.

No what I mean is, what do they do differently to somehow try more/harder in non-Olympic years? Do they just, like, kind of coast and not as hard to win in non-Olympic years?

It seems that its recruiting classes are loaded such that Clarkson has a lot of seniors in an Olympic year, but that is likely just how it worked out, rather than something deliberately planned.
