Frozen Fenway: New Hampshire vs Maine

Re: Frozen Fenway: New Hampshire vs Maine

It's about a 15 dollar cab ride from Fenway to North Station and MUCH quicker than the green line. I would assume you could leave Fenway at 10:30 and be there in plenty of time to catch the 11:00 train (as long as you rush out of fenway to get a cab before the masses). I've never done it in the winter though, only during Sox games.

Cool pics Gib, thanks for posting them

Re: Frozen Fenway: New Hampshire vs Maine

Re: Frozen Fenway: New Hampshire vs Maine

It's really warm outside. I hope the ice holds up. Frozen Fenway is a bit of a misnomer today.

Re: Frozen Fenway: New Hampshire vs Maine

Heading to the game. Im sitting somewhere behind home plate. A little elevated. Not expecting the best, but we'll see. Should be fun just being there. Im taking The Downeaster to the game. Sadly that leaves at 11pm, so Im not sure if I'll be able to see the entire game. I figure I'll have to leave Fenway by 10:15 to get back to North Station.

If you see this, ask if the Downeaster is coming back to Maine late. For B's, Celtics and Sox games they often hold the late train until the game is over. They might do the same tonight considering it's both Maine and New Hampshire in the late game.

Re: Frozen Fenway: New Hampshire vs Maine

no prob! You coming down today?
No, I think the outdoor games are a novelty. I'd rather watch on TV. I'd surprised if the ice was worth spit as warm as it and especially with a game before Maine and UNH play

Re: Frozen Fenway: New Hampshire vs Maine

Watching UMass game, wow there's some fans sitting in the CF bleachers. Why would you sit there where you can't follow the game? Might as well stay at home and watch it on TV. The game is sparsely attended I see a lot of empty seats.

"Novelty" is way too nice of a word...:rolleyes:

Re: Frozen Fenway: New Hampshire vs Maine

Congrats to Maine -- although I'm disappointed, I think your team deserved the victory tonight, if you look at all 3 periods of play (OT, given its nature, could have gone either way.)

I agree. But, from my seats in Section 13, B103, Row NN, the viewing was fine. I am really glad I paid the big bucks for this event, as I missed the earlier Fenway hockey games. Temperatures were warmer than I have experienced at many early spring Sox games. Ice got better for the second game as temperatures dropped into the low 40s. Fenway claimed to have sold 38,000+ tickets, although there indeed were lots of empty seats, especially for the second game. The only downer for me was UNH losing yet another game, although I found both games to be very entertaining.
