Frozen 4 seat locations

Re: Frozen 4 seat locations

Could affect the secondary market, and therefore the size and enthusiasm of the crowd. Agree with you that the pool of priority holders includes a lot of MN fans, but not so sure about BC; I think the pool of high priority BC fans is enthusiastic, but small (though by that time, BC had a nice run of FF appearances, which might have resulted in a lot of medium priority fans). If MN makes the FF, the MN fan base is large enough that there will be a lot of fans who aren't priority holders that will want to buy tickets*.
Agree with all that. On reflection, some of the BC presence stems from BC fans being well enough networked, skilled and experienced to find high priority seats on the secondary market. To put it another way, some of the BC fans I've noticed over the years are getting into high priority seats with cash rather than points. No doubt that goes for MN fans as well. But BC fans may have more opportunities to "network locally" with other fanbases, just based on geographic realities.

A long weekend in Tampa is very enticing to New England residents because of long winters and plentiful, not too expensive direct flights.
Perhaps the single biggest reason Tampa 2012 > Anaheim 1999. The "willingness to travel" variable is night and day different when comparing '99 to '12. In '99, most of the Frozen Four fanbase complained very bitterly about being asked to fly to SoCal. But in '12, the option to travel to Tampa was well received by most, and exercised by many.

I also think that the presence of Union (who at the time were an up-and-comer) and Ferris could make a difference because their fans wouldn't be "financially fatigued" by having to expend the time and money to go to the FF frequently
I'm not sure who we should be rooting for this time around to help fill the building. But you're absolutely correct, the specific teams involved have a big impact on the ultimate demand level. And this year, more than most, fans of the participating schools will be needed to fill the seats.

*I may never do another good deed in my life, but I made a Minnesota fan very happy in 2002. Couldn't attend the FF and sold my tickets to a Minnesota fan at face value. He sent me a check, never asking for any kind of verification. I sent him the tickets and, from the emails I got he must have been checking the tracking number every five minutes. Of course Minny won in OT.
Good story!

More early speculation on the 2016 Secondary Market: It may actually be tougher than usual to get Club seating on the resale market, even if the rest of the building is easy. Reason? This time those seats went to high priority holders, most of whom will personally attend.

The only seats available on the secondary market site that I trust are lower level and seats in three club levels. Prices range from $445 to $900 a seat. We have to wait for the GP sale to get a real handle on the secondary market values. Another interesting site which rates the secondary market ticket values on a 1-100 scale with 100 being the best deal. That site has the frozen four tickets available on the secondary market today rated between 50 and 60 for value TODAY.

Lowly priority 2 here (although I've been to 8 frozen fours). Happy to have options other than the corners of the rafters.

Ended up still picking a corner in the 300s, but row B in section 329 sounded good to me. Personal preference. Still had an opportunity this late in the process for upper rows of the lower bowl endzone. Also upper rows of 300s at center ice were still available.

Thanks for the tip about flash tickets. Can't be emphasized enough, if you haven't ordered yet and want a physical ticket, be sure to select the delivery method (it defaults to flash tickets)!

I like your style. Different section, but row B in one of those two row parts between the goal lines made it a no brainer for me.

It was a tough decision with lower bowl available. But being a short girl looking at the slope of the lower bowl seats, I picked the 2 row section (and cost savings vs. lower bowl).

I'm not a short girl, but you made the right call. :) You don't want to be behind the goal lines and low over being able to watch the play develop.

Didn't get your e-mail until after the fact; apologies. But it looks like you did just fine.

Re: Frozen 4 seat locations

Missed my priority 2 date yesterday, but bought my pair of tickets today. Section 321, Row B.

Re: Frozen 4 seat locations

Priority 1. I went for 126, row S.

Having been in 128, Row S, at the SCF, I'm quite certain I'll be happy with these. Being on the aisle that goes halfway down the middle of the section was also a factor for me.

Re: Frozen 4 seat locations

Priority 1. I took Sec 110, Row W.
Lower bowl. Corner.
Row W = Row 23 if I calculate correctly.
Plenty high enough to see the play develop. Only the far left corner (as one is seated) will be blocked or glassed out.
I'm happy with these seats. I think. Never been to Amalie Arena.

What tips does anyone have about the flash tickets? I saw reference to it below but cannot find the advice.

FWIW, when I called, the Amalie ticket office told me that rows W and X are the rows that you enter the arena. So if you want to avoid steps, you accomplished that. Only drawback that I can see is that you may be above or next to the student sections. In the past some folks sitting near or above the student sections have had a problem with students standing up the whole game. On the other hand, if it doesn’t bother you to (or you like to) stand, you may not have anyone behind you. So you if you want to stand, you may not need to worry about folks behind you.

Edit: the strikethrough text is incorrect; see post 97<strike>Flash tickets are electronic tickets (I think probably the bar coded kind that you can download to your smart phone and/or print ; someone please correct me if I’m wrong)</strike>. They may be an issue if (1) you want souvenir printed tickets or if (2) you are a part of a large group who may not arrive at the arena at the same time. The problem was that they were the default; if you didn’t opt out, you probably got flash tickets. If you don’t care about souvenir tickets or if you’re only buying a couple of tickets, probably doesn’t matter.

Like Nick said happy for you that you got lower bowl as a priority 1, but that’s a little worrisome for prospects for a full building for the FF.

There are probably only 2-3 dozen seats max left in the lower bowl, from what I saw when I looked. Maybe slightly more than a handful of 3somes and some scattered singles. Club level only has a few singles on the end.

I don't think it will be a completely full building, but I think it will be quite full. I am hopeful that local hockey fans will feel inclined to check it out, as Tampa does have a pretty good NHL fanbase. Time will tell.

As I understand it, Flash Tickets requires the person who ordered tickets to only need their credit card to enter the building (with the ENTIRE group present if it's more than yourself). I would guess they will print off a small receipt with your seat info on it for ushers to check/direct, as that's what they do for mobile tickets to Lightning games.

Appreciate the update. These seats will probably sell before the lottery closes. Still, it's stunning that the Lower Bowl was available at all priority levels.

It's really up to Florida-based fans now. In a comparable situation, local St. Louis fans filled most of the Upper Bowl in 2007. So it can be done. Here's to hoping.

But quite honestly, I'm a bit more pessimistic. Based on the results so far, I'm guessing the Upper Bowl will be half empty, at least for the semis.

One factor in my thinking: Back in 2012, local presence in the arena was rather modest, IIRC. If anyone has a clearer recollection, please share. But my belief is that if Tampa is going to achieve another near-sellout in 2016, local fans are going to have bear a significantly larger share of the load.

My wife and I each received an email from the NCAA offering the opportunity to purchase tickets in a presale before they go on sale to the general public. The presale will end on 27 November at 11:59 pm or when all tickets are sold. I believe that they got our emails emails from the annual raffle the NCAA holds for tickets to the next FF, so they are still marketing FF tickets to the college hockey fan base.

I just looked and found 40 single seats available in the lower bowl.

Re: Frozen 4 seat locations

in 2012 as a priority 3 when mookie bought there were NO single seats in the lower bowl. the year before that as a 2 mookie was able to get a single in the lower behind the net in st paul (2011).
