Re: Elmira @ Hobart
Williams -Conn College recap - First period was even, not many scoring chances but a couple on each side.
Second period was almost all Williams, they controlled it and started the scoring with a beautiful tip in front. Williams continued the pressure and was able to take a 3-0 lead before taking some penalties and Conn was able to score on a 4-3. Perfect wrister in the top corner. Conn had a 5-3 for 37(i think) seconds in the end of the 2nd, but could not get a quality shot and went into the lockers with a 3-1 deficit.
Williams was able to finish off the last 30-40 seconds of the 5-3 and went a little lethargic for a few minutes. Williams scored their forth goal on an excuse me goal(at least from my angle) They threw the puck at the net, and it must have been tipped in. After this Williams kept the pressure on. They seem disinterested/tired/early in the season disorganized around 6 minutes left and took 2 penalties in a row(no 5-3, just one after another) But Williams picked it up on the PK and even scored shorthanded with a beautiful backhander. Two minutes before this goal Purdy stepped up when Williams tried getting fancy on the PK and allowed a breakaway which was nicely stopped.
I have to say, I was very impressed with Williams crisp passing. Even their passes from one defenseman to another were right where they were supposed to be. Should be a very good year for Williams if they keep this up.
