Friday and Sat Scores

Re: Friday and Sat Scores

little help with UCHC rules please...Nazareth v Wilkes game went to a shootout
1st shooter, Wilkes scores, 1st Naz shooter shot is blocked, saved...thats all
Wilkes wins ? they dont do 3 shots each ? they make up these rules on the playground ?

Re: Friday and Sat Scores

Here is what is posted on the UCHC website from a press release of 10/30/18 regarding overtime play following the offical 5 minute OT period:

"With conference points up for grabs, the changes take effect following that five minute period. Under the new rules, teams would then play an additional five minute period of 3-on-3 hockey followed by a shootout to determine who gets an additional point over the opponent if necessary."

Note... no mention of how many shots for each team. It seems that it as a sudden victory situation.

At least both teams got a shot in the shootout OT period..............unlike the NFL.

There's that... But if you institute a shootout, I would say go 5 shooters deep, then go to sudden-death if need be, with both teams getting an equal number of opportunities.

Re: Friday and Sat Scores

First big upset of the weekend is Adrian losing to MSOE dropping in the Pairwise comparisons from 7th to 9th. still borderline safe, but I'd be hoping that Trinity Augsberg and UNE all lose a game if i were them.

Re: Friday and Sat Scores

SNC wins 2-1. They almost tied the game on a near own goal with an extra attacker on during a delayed penalty.

Let’s just keep the bulldogs home this year. Good job MSOE!

NCHC in D1 does a sudden death shootout as well, it’s not entirely unique. Not sure about the WCHA or B1G, I know they do shootouts, but might not be sudden death.

Alot of posters wouldn’t mind seeing the Bulldogs sitting at home next weekend and beyond. . Let’s go MSOE.

Re: Friday and Sat Scores

NCHA recap.

As mentioned, SNC beats Finlandia, and MSOE beats Adrian.

Lake Forest holds home serve against Aurora 4-2, but Northland steals a 2-1 win at Marian.

It’s a best of 2 format. If Friday’s winners win or Tie tonight the series is over. If Friday’s losers win tonight, there is a full 20-minute mini game to follow - which would be followed by sudden victory OT.

There's no way these goons will get an at large selection if they lose tonight. Hopefully MSOE can get that win or tie tonight.

Is there a goal differential rule that would cancel out the mini game or only depends on wins?

Re: Friday and Sat Scores

I don't know about anyone else, but that 500 mile rule needs to go to the ash heap of history. We have made the trip twice from the OZ and it is not at all a good ride

Only depends on wins.

So the Saturday game could go to overtime first, and then need the mini. (Aka the DMG - dreaded mini game.)

The DMG is indeed its own game. You can change the players you dress, etc. It is a full 20 regardless of score, then OT if needed
