Excellent game at Stafford. Some observations:
- Both goalies came up huge. Cadieux had the flashier saves, but Hare was unflappable, and really stepped it up in the third.
- Speaking of the third, I was really impressed with Plattsburgh's energy level down the stretch. One of those periods that's really frustrating to finish empty-handed.
- On the other side, Oswego flew out of the gates. The Cards were very lucky to make it through the first down one goal.
- "Edge of Glory" would be a far more appropriate Gaga hockey tune than "Poker Face."
- Alex Jensen played his butt off all night. Good to see him on the scoresheet.
- Plattsburgh's skates took a real pounding on breakout passes during the first half of the game. Without some lucky bounces, Oswego would've had a few more odd-man rushes.
- "Tainted Love" isn't the most appropriate song when your team is losing.
- There was plenty of chippiness after the whistle, and Oswego's tumble into Cadieux before their second goal was a little suspect, but all in all, Oswego showed great discipline in a game where it was needed.
- Jon Whitelaw is scary.
- The Stafford lighting now turns my hands purple instead of the familiar pink. I'm not sure whether I should be worried about this.
- The Cards clearly got the memo about dump-and-chase against fast teams; they carried it into the zone whenever possible, and looked pretty good doing it once they ironed out their passing yips.
- The referee had no choice on Beadow's penalty. Helen Keller could've told you it was a hold from the ticket window.
- Plattsburgh's student section didn't exactly class it up, but they came out in force and they made a lot of noise. It's nice to have some sustained energy in the stands.

Don't know why Scholasitica went for two, maybe their kicker was hurt.
Since Finlandia won, there's one less thing I have to worry about - bounced from LPS one week, bounced from the loser's bracket the next

Yes. I remember that one. That was Sega. It was NHL All Stars, or something like that.
Zach Wilson might have a hat trick. If he does, you're going to have to pick me up off the floor. This is the kind of kid you root for in D-III hockey. He hardly plays (4 career points in 13 games, over two seasons), and I think he has 3 tonight, his first 3 of his career.

Yup, right in front of me. Makes you wonder why Castleton fans complain about the refs? I do agree there were questionable calls, but they were on both sides. This butt end was by no means questionable. Despite that, I thought it was a good, intense game for both teams and Cinotti and Carroll should be the players of the game, they were awesome.

Im glad you young guys didn't live in the 50s and 60s. We were lucky to see a couple sporting events televised in a week. I can remember trying to turn the RADIO just the right way just to hear an afternoon World Series Game! And there was NO WEB, unless it was a spider web. We were happy just to hear the game. And you couldn't record it and watch it later!
