Flyers prospect camp roster

Re: Flyers prospect camp roster

Facts will not interfere with Hokydad's opinion.

It has nothing to do with facts.

One or two examples change zero

At the end of the day, if you want to believe and or think that a kid going to a development camp as an invite is there on a tryout, good.

My opinion is the same.

If a kid goes to one and does a great job and gets a contract down the road, good for him

Re: Flyers prospect camp roster

I just provided an example of a player who was

1. Undrafted.
2. Attended a development camp as an invitee.
3. Signed an UFA contract the following spring with the same team.

Your point was not proven.

So the only way it would be correct is if every player who ever attended a development camp quit hockey the day after?

What a joke.

They are fillers and cherry picked examples mean zero.

Get an invite to the next camp and you are there on a tryout.

Did you look at the last 5 years rosters and see how many were 1 and done. About 99%

Believe what you want...

Re: Flyers prospect camp roster

hokydad is still fighting the good fight here. And I still agree with him.

Whoooooo, someone found one player that made the club from a summer camp that was just an undrafted invitee. That proves it has happened... very rarely. Which is the point.

And it was the following year.

I know there is one thing we all can agree on. Any kid getting to the next level and signing is a very good thing, hats off and congrats.

I wish it happened more at the dev camp and I am sure the players have a great experience but it is simply not the case.

The fact is you have been unable to substantiate ANY of your claims, and without even trying (I'm a Wild fan and the article mentions a tUMD player) I already found an example.

You asked me to do it and I did it. Now you've got nothing, so you try to qualify it. "But... but... the next year and... I wish it happened more..." When did I ever state that a kid should be getting signed the day the camp ends? Is that what this argument has boiled down to? Unless they sign during the camp or directly after the camp, then it doesn't count for anything?

Surrender, Dorothy. I mean, really, I won before I started.

yup, hokydad found yet another person who needs convincing that the sky is blue...
he has the patience to convince, I gave up long ago.
and Rusty Griswold, I know that's you...

Re: Flyers prospect camp roster

I hope every kid gets signed out of them and that they use the experience as a motivating factor

At the end of the day they are simply fillers so their prospects and draft picks can field teams
They are not there as a tryout

In general yes, but as a Flyers fan I can tell you these guys all got longer looks than usual because of the paucity of draft picks the Flyers had this past season.

Re: Flyers prospect camp roster

The Los Angeles Kings have released the roster for the 2010 Develoment Camp. We here at RinkRoyalty.com are going to do our best to get down to the camp at least a couple days, and hope to see some of you down there. In the meantime, here’s a bit of information that might be appealing. Below is the released roster to peruse. It’s worth noting that the players below with an asterisk are invitees to camp, players who will be fighting for a place in the organization. Typically they all head home empty-handed, but you never know!

Please contact the above posters and make sure that they are aware of the fact that this is atryout and that they are not fillers.

This is the caps dev roster, loaded with non draft picks and current org members... dev camp is DIFFERENT than main or rookie camps

AKA have forgotten more than you know

I don't think there's a poster on this board (other than you) who thinks you are intelligent.

Actually, I think you are not a person, but rather 1,000 monkeys typing on 1,000 typewriters, accidentally happening upon sentences.

Depends on how you define intelligence. Sure his bad typing is difficult for you to read, but then again, no one ever accused you of being a genius either. Is he a creep and a strongly opinionated doosh with bad social skills? Absolutely. But he knows what the heck he's talking here about 99% of the time. And that's what makes him different from you.

Who are you? I've never even heard of you, but of course I'm not on USCHO that much, usually. I'm sure you're a big deal around here. Wow, you certainly put me in my place. I didn't know you were a longtime reader of RWD and had read every post I wrote on here and on tPB.

I know what I'm talking about 100% of the time, so that's certainly a difference.

Paradigm Paralysis has little to do with memory my friend. In this case, it is mainly informed by your confirmation bias and illusory correlations regarding your paradigmatic model of Prospect camps. It's time to move on.

Wrong again pal. The only correlation is the grps who get invited to development camps that have nothing to do with tryouts.

ZERO

Maybe we can get the Flyers to draft the owner of Comcasts kid again. I am sure he had a heck of a well deserved tryout.

Lets put this on hold for 6 weeks and compare rookie/main camp rosters with these "tryout/part of the org" invites.
That correlation will be staggering
