Florida vs. Zimmerman - Q.E.D????????

Re: Florida vs. Zimmerman - Q.E.D????????

So, according to Dershowitz the prosecutor spent 40 minutes threatening to sue Harvard Law over dershowitz's comments. The train wreck continues.

And she evidently did so with some poor flack-catcher in the PR department, rather than the dean.

Re: Florida vs. Zimmerman - Q.E.D????????

You're being far too kind by limiting your comments to prosecutors.

This place is nuts.
Someplace I lived a few years ago had a radio show with a segment called "Germany or Florida" where contestants had to guess which place a weird news piece (cannibalism, bestiality, incest, etc) was from. It was legitimately a tough contest!

They did that on Loveline. Might have stolen it from somewhere, of course...

Well, they did take one thing from this case:
(j) Notwithstanding subsection (i), a person is not justified in using force against a public servant if:

3) the person has entered into combat with the public servant or is the initial aggressor

Truthfully, there are so many exclusions that it's hard to see the bill as anything more than a symbolic gesture to curry favor with the NRA crowd.

Kudos to Wonkette for that nota bene at the end, though. That'll be sure to rile up the easily-riled-up. :)

That law is an overreaction to an Indiana Supreme Court overreaction last year that said there was no defense or justification for ever resisting cops, regardless of the legality of their actions including one sheriff who said if he wanted to do warrantless house to house searches, he'd do so (later backtracking on that statement).

Basically they need to turn time back to about 2010 and start over, but good luck in that.

Re: Florida vs. Zimmerman - Q.E.D????????

Just for the record: this is the site that referred to Sarah Palin's youngest as a "retard," correct? And it took you weeks to come around to the conclusion, reluctantly, that that was not an appropriate thing to say. Right? Any evidence your judgement is better now than then? Or am I being "politicial?"
I sort of see your point, but I'll bet the website didn't make up the law. The commentary is meh, the law would be hilarious if it weren't so mind-numbingly stupid.

I see the prosecution is playing hardball trying to avoid a trial. Mrs. Z was briefly incarcerated today for reportedly perjuring herself to a judge in regards to her financial shape. She made $1,000 bond and was released.

It's never a good idea to lie or obscure the truth when under oath. Unless your name is Clinton.

Access to nuclear weapons always gives you more leeway. I learned this from Civ 1.
I learned the best way to take over the world is to use spies to bribe cities from Civ 1. You also get a free tech that way.
