Five Guys

Re: Five Guys

the "2 days" is interesting... was it the same restaurant that had planned to open and bbdl forgot he tried to get served the first time? or is he just the unluckiest sob ever and visited two different five guys that were two days away from opening:p
ding ding ding

yeah, I showed up to 2 different places, probably about 6 months apart and they were both 2 days away from opening, both looked open from the street.
I have the feeling that bbdl meant to write "2 hours" instead of "2 days".
definitely 2 days.

Gonna go out on a limb here and guess that a restaurant that is 2 days from opening probably doesn't look much different than it does when it actually opens. By that point, all of the work that is being done should be internal.

My take on them is that it's not worth going out of your way, but if you happen to be near one, and want a burger, give 'em a try.

Re: Five Guys

I'll probably go back, but I wasn't that impressed by Val's either.

On the other hand, I had the best burger in months today - not a Lucy either, but Zakia Deli in northeast Minneapolis (south of 35W at New Brighton Blvd.) makes a darn good cheeseburger. Juicy patty, very good bun, fresh toppings, and your choice of cheese. Get it with the garlic spread, but tell them to go easy or you'll be breathing death all day. :o Also, skip the potato wedges and go for some of their Lebanese side dishes.

This.

Re: Five Guys

and the most important note why chick-fil-a is better than five guys.

on thursday i stopped at the chick-fil-a at the nashua mall place and bought a bag of sangys. just threw one in the oven and ate it for lunch :D

can't very well do that with a burger:p
