He is alive on the ground, recovery crew is there, as are a camera crew.

When they showed the camera angle from the top/front of the capsule pointed straight down toward Earth I thought, "How does he not puke?". Was very disappointed with the after-coverage on Discovery, hope that they do a special on it soon.
