FFFF Semi (4/8): Wisconsin vs. RIT

Re: FFFF Semi (4/8): Wisconsin vs. RIT

Is this what it feels like to be interviewed by Bill O'Reilly?

Re: FFFF Semi (4/8): Wisconsin vs. RIT

You were thinking it. ;)

OK, maybe. Could you post some pics???:D

And you're right, I am pretty mellow on the smack-talk scale. (And now I have sign-off and put my little daughter to bed.)

Hope to see lot's of you under the roof in Detroit.

Wow. This thread sucks.

Our co-eds are hotter, we play in the greatest conference in the history of the world, we have 6 titles, and Mike Eaves is god's gift to the State of Wisconsin. We have the Terrace, Spotted Cow (well, better beer in general), more lakes than we know what to do with, and were once called "America's Greatest College Town" by one Scott VanPelt. Our football teams are better, our mascot is better, and lets face it, we have better mustaches.

Bring it on.

Think that will do it? :D :D :D

Meet your frat brother. RIT = Tech East.

Any school with a 23 yr old freshman on the hockey team has serious issues. By the time that guy's a senior after red-shirting, he'll be 28. He could end up playing againsy an 18 yr old. Is that really fair?

This whole topic has been discussed on another thread. The situation you described would be pretty rare. If he did redshirt, he would be 27, but RIT generally only redshirts because of medical reasons. So in all likelihood, he would be 26. It's a somewhat rare to see a player that old, considering our oldest players are 24 this year.

I personally don't like that there is a 23 yr old freshman, but I wouldn't describe RIT as having serious issues. I know Denver had a 25 year old this year and so do other teams.

Re: FFFF Semi (4/8): Wisconsin vs. RIT

After reading through 7 pages of this garbage, I can't believe that this is smack talk after reading the threads before the st cloud games or the minnehaha games. I think the Badgers will win, that is if they score more goals which I think they can do. Now that we have that settled, we do have better looking co-eds. See ya in Detroit!

Re: FFFF Semi (4/8): Wisconsin vs. RIT

Yes, I understood all the posts. Where I come from though, saying to someone "so you ... FAIL" would be considered talking smack. I realized the topics changed, but that's still irony. Anyway, enough on irony and smack ... let's all get back to hockey. Both teams are too good to let this devolve into an internet flamewar on grammar and "internet truth".

So what are the fan expectations out in Badger-land? Is anything less than a championship a disappointment, or was this a success in just making it to the Frozen Four. I would think as a 1-seed expectations are sky high.

(Also just noticed/realized that RIT would have to beat 3 of 4 1-seeds to win it all. Has that ever happened before?)

Nobody has done it since they went to the 16 team tourney in 2003.
PS, no one did it before that either. ;)

I'm sure others may be able to find similar occurences to this though. I have a fond memory of 1981, for obvious reasons. :D

On their way to the 1981 NCAA
crown, the Badgers defeated the conference
champs of all three Division I leagues,
in the NCAA quarterfinals, Wisconsin beat
Clarkson 9-8, in a total goal series. Clarkson
was the ECAC title holder. Northern
Michigan had captured the CCHA title and
Minnesota finished first in the WCHA.

RIT's football team hasn't lost since 1978 :D :D :D

All teams in the division are subject to the same NCAA rules, so yes, it's fair.

That said, I think age will have a huge impact on the outcome of Thursday's game: It's a well-documented fact that badgers are intimidated by massive, post-pubescent neck beards. Have you seen Jared "the mountain man" DeMichiel lately? RIT clearly has the edge here.

Re: FFFF Semi (4/8): Wisconsin vs. RIT

How will RITs neckbeards match up with Wisconsin's pornstaches and molestastaches though?

Now that's just not fair. As we all know, Clarkson sucks. Add in the fact that they perennially fail in the playoffs, and it's like you beat AIC in the quarters. Not that I'm sayin' anything, just sayin'.
