I like how Ferris (and Michigan) have two games in hand over most of the CCHA until February. Miami and Ohio State catch up in January but it will always be nice to have those two extra games to play when looking at the standings.

A sweep would be great, I could survive with a split.

There are pros and cons to that though. Then it looks like we are trailing all the teams in the standings the entire year. Although, I know the end is the only thing that matters. But I see your point on being able to look at where u are at at the end of the year.

I'm very excited for this weekend.

That's one, now on to Saturday.
Penalties are a concern and Chupp not returning in the 3rd worries me but our depth will take us along way this year.
UNO has a good squad and thier tender was sharp tonight

The win was nice but i think the shutout is also a key element that will come from this game. the goalies had given up several 1 goal games and the taste of a shutout should restart the defesive fire for the whole team.

I wasn't there but it sounds like the better team won. I think it is their mental strength that is impressing me most. Every year Ferris is good enough to beat anybody but after they have one big weekend (see Miami) they let it get to their heads. This team is obviously different.

Alright, #17 Ferris State Bulldogs 9-0 at home now, 12-3 (Counting shootout wins as a win)...What more does the Hockey World want from a team to consider them the real deal?

Swept #1 Miami @ Miami (Two Shootout Wins) (Who have swept #20 St. Cloud, Beat New Hampshere, Beat #11 Michigan State, Swept Michigan, and just beat #14 Notre Dame)

Swept Ohio State (who have beat #2 Denver, #5 Bemidji State & Michigan)

Just beat #18 UNO last night (Who have beat #8 Mass-Lowell and Colgate)


USCHO hasn't even made mention of Ferris State yet, it's a joke what these boys have to go through to get attention.

Well everyone is waiting for Ferris to do it again. Win again against a national power and eyes will begin to open.

As far as USCHO is concerned...they are too busy with the Bemidji and Quinnipiac stories. There are only enough feet for two cinderella slippers.

I wouldn't get too caught up in the national recognition Ferris hockey is getting. Anyone who knows anything about D1 hockey knows that Ferris is a tough team every year especially at Ewigleben. But in the end it is FERRIS STATE. If Ferris ever did become a national power in hockey, the average sports fan would not have a clue. Colorado College is an example of this. The fans and tho opponents know about Ferris and that's what matters.

Very true FerrisFan. Our radio guy mentioned on the air last night that he believes if Ferris wins again tomorrow (Today/Saturday vs. UNO) for the Sweep he believed that the Nation will open their eyes, and the community will jump on bored as well.

It's all up to them tonight, to sweep a national ranked team twice (Miami/UNO) would be huge for Ferris, and if that is the case, top 12/top 10 here Ferris comes...


What are your predictions on tonight?

We're 9th in the PWR, which puts us as the 1st #3 seed in the tournament as we sit now. There's still some adjusting to be made for records against TUCs, but I don't see much slippage there. We've still got to navigate through January yet, but this is a nice start.

As for the national media, I don't give a flying * about what they think. They don't determine who gets into the NCAA tournament. The PWR does. Keep winning and handling our business like we're supposed to, and that will take care of itself. We haven't turned into a bunch of preening media whores desperate for attention after just 15 games, have we?

Don't care about our ranking ,don't care about the media.Care about wins and getting to the tournament.The on ice is all that matters.
Another win tonight and get ready for next weekend.

I think most of us get it. And, to be frank, I would trade every ounce of national attention for a little bit more local attention.

I hope the arena starts filling up.

another sweep. more great defense. they keep beating the teams they're supposed to beat which is not something i can usually say about ferris hockey. keep it up and don't let it slip against western.

is this home winning streak anyting close to a record?
