Probably. But I still think most of us are undermining Ferris right now. We're still waiting for them to fall apart and play like that team that we saw last year. But I'm not sure that that is going to happen this year...

I don't know if undermining is the right word, but I see what you're trying to say.

I've watched this team for 17 years. I've seen hot starts before, and I've seen this team fizzle in the 2nd half. We're at a time in the schedule where we really need to pick up as many points as we can, because January is not kind to us this year. If we slip up now, and then get buried in January, there simply aren't enough games left to repair the damage. So far I'm pleased with the results, but there's more to be done.

Understandable, Hammer. I haven't followed them for many years like you have, but this team surely is an improvement over several of them. They finally seem to have some continuity on offense, decent puck handling, and their defense can be bone crunching (Alexander...that kid lays some wicked hits). Without the defense, I don't think the goalies have as good of a year as they are having. Granted, coming in to Ferris, both Nagle and Nelson were highly rated. But take for example Brian Mahoney-Wilson of Lake State. He was drafted by San Jose but he's giving up 2.79 goals per game, and Nick Eno of BG drafted by Buffalo is giving up 3.11

But you're right. They seem to fade into break then really falter after. For now, I will wait with everyone else to see what this team does the rest of the way

While only 3 teams would make the tournament if it started today (which is an average to slightly below average turnout), 8 of 12 are sitting in the top 25.

Even then those numbers are way too early, I don't think anyone can realistically expect Quinnipiac or Bemidji to get #1 seeds (which technically, right now they would have).

Anyone at the game last night, what system did Ferris play? I saw they had a lot of time on the powerplay, I'm curious how the even strength play was. I know a lot of us Miami fans were frustrated last weekend with their sit back and trap system, but it worked, so Daniels coached the team well for the series in Oxford.

...which would make Riley the leading scorer in the nation. So is this kid really that good? who does he compare to? I mean...Kunitz had 10 goals at this point in 2002 but Riley is not Kunitz. I never even thought Riley was as good as a Rallo or Nesbitt type of player. Am I wrong or is he actually an outstanding player

From my vantage point Riley has had the size and the potential. I do think he's better than Rallo, but I'm not sure about the comparison with Nesbitt.

Bueller has informed us that we have beaten Ohio State in overtime and have swept them.

2-0-2 in the evaluation period. I almost think we need to raise our expectations. Almost.

Bulldogs at one time down 3-0. And then down 4-1.

Ferris State comes back to tie it in the last minute 5-5. And then won in the last minute in Overtime!

I do believe that this team is for real. On a night where the goaltending was shaky, the offense showed up. Nagle gave up 3 very weak goals and rightfully was pulled in favor of Nelson, who really didn't have a great night himself. Ferris never quit tonight and the building was full of energy, especially in the last few minutes of regulation and in overtime. Chupp came through in a time where the team needed their captain the most, scoring the second hat trick of the series for Ferris.

Very exciting game this evening. They have me believing that they can finally consistently score goals.

The wrong call was made twice. I thought it was high stick the whole way, but there's no way you can see that to overturn it on video replay with only an overhead to work with.

Great comeback win! It's good to know we got that club in our bag.

Our clustermates are Miami and Ohio State, two teams that we historically match up well against.

What is the freaking obsession with being ranked? I'd rather hide under the radar and win games than bank on a ranking. Good job Dawgs, but don't bark until the full moon (and the CCHA playoffs) comes out.
