Favorites to hoist the crown

For Oswego the season may come down to how well the Freshman goalies take to the college game. Millberg had a good season as the backup but question is can he play the back to back games if the Freshman goalies flounder.

I have full faith in milberg. He had a 0.915 and that includes the Elmira Concordia and geneseo games in which his defense let him out to dry (I think we had more breakaway/2v1 goals against in those 3 games than the past 2 seasons combined no I'm not joking) if schell could get a 3rd team all SUNYAC with a 0.904 and with geneseo gone he's an early favorite for an all SUNYAC spot if he's shouldering the load. The problem for a while can we get over the geneseo hump. Now the problem is can we get out of our own damn way. Hopefully this new team doesn't have that problem

Any other dark horses that have a shot besides St. Norbert? UNE? St. Scholastica?

Plattsburgh has been incrementally improving every year since the league returned from Covid, maybe they have a very outside long shot but I think this is the season they get back in the conversation.

Back to back conference finals; both goalies, most of their defense, and core forwards return.

Plattsburgh is right in the discussion for any team after Hobart I would think.

Moff has done a terrific job returning that program back to the cusp of prominence again.

If there's a team built to win right now in my very biased opinion, it's Utica

They're bringing back 85% of their scoring from last season's Frozen Four team, along with their all american defenseman and all 3 goalies. This is a team that was close last year, and only got better in the transfer market really.

Utica is interesting. While I do agree with you the past few years we all knew that Utica was gonna win the UCHC. That's not true anymore with Geneseo in the mix. While their schedule is tougher now it's still not the toughest. Platty got left out last year with only 5 losses and their schedule was comparable or maybe slightly better than Utica this year. It's entirely possible if they lose the UCHC title, they don't make the tournament

Plattsburgh missing the tournament was self inflicted, they lost games they should've won vs Williams and Buff State, and left a key win on the table blowing a 3rd period lead vs Norwich

If Utica handles their business and goes into the UCHC tournament with 2-3 losses that aren't backbreaking, a lost game to Geneseo in the conference tourney wouldn't be a killer.

And like I said above, this might be the best assembled Utica team since the team that was the #1 overall seed in the tournament before COVID hit

And that doesn't even mention blowing the SUNYAC Championship game on home ice to Cortland. They definitely had their chances.

Hard to say, at this point, who has the toughest schedule.

But, I don't see any other Eastern team traveling for Adrian for two to kick off its docket...
