Favorites to hoist the crown

It’s early but season will start before you know it. Utica might be the favorite, lots of retuning players and a hockey trip to Europe gives them a head start. Adrian is always a factor. A dark horse could be Salve Regina. Also heard that Plymouth State is loaded with talent.

IDK man I think two time defending national champion Hobart with their career .960% with 40 GP goalie might be the favorite

Hobart also lost what would be a top returning forward to D1 so that probably stings a bit on top of all the seniors they had on their blue line.

Certainly no reason to not pencil Hobart in as the favorite again given what they’ve accomplished the last two years, but I’m thinking it will be real hard this year for the three-peat.

However, it’s hard to count out Aquaro and Beaver ever…

Two top returning scorers left for D1

That's a bold prediction, Cotton......

Is it really? The only reason it didn't happen last year was because they pulled 2 wins out of their asse.s vs Hobart and Utica (both at home)and that team had 13 seniors and a group who had spent 3-4 years playing together. Is the team with 70% roster turnover with 17 freshman who've never played together really gonna do better than that?

You might be right, we ended up 16-9 last year. We had some clunkers (elmira 2x) and a few quality wins which made for another schizophrenic season. Coach has his hands full with this new group, talent looks good but can they pay together? Remains to be seen. Like I said on another post, maybe next year or the year after that before we see some improvement (if they all don't bounce). What frustrates me most the last couple years is the losses at home. That needs to turn around. Teams should hate coming to the Deb.

Exactly. If we go 15-10 but the only teams we lose to are 7 tournament/almost tournament teams and Platty (just once going 0-2 vs them is never acceptable) wed all be happier than pigs in mud. Get us off this damn rollercoaster

For Oswego the season may come down to how well the Freshman goalies take to the college game. Millberg had a good season as the backup but question is can he play the back to back games if the Freshman goalies flounder.

I may be a bit biased, but I think St. Norbert can make a run at a trophy this season. With Adrian's coach leaving, as well as only having four departures from last season (albeit major), it seems like St. Norbert could make some noise this year.

From what I see Oz has 19 new faces this year, with around 9 coming back??...This will be the definition of team play for sure, loosing your #1 net minder is not ez,and a sh*t ton of scoring, along with several big Dmen,....hey let's throw in probably the hardest start to the D3 season with several top teams to deal with....Go Lakers!!!....p.s. Lakernation will have to remember its not how you start the season, but how you end it, may take some time for all the new players and old players to gel....
