Right, from the help box on the add/drop page:

A: There is a rule where you can't make a roster move with a player for the twelve hours following the start time of a game in which his team is playing.
Players you're trying to drop will have the checkbox next to their name disabled.
Players you're trying to add will not appear in the drop-down at all.
Due to the varying start times around the country, players may be available at different times. For example, a Denver player who had a home game starting at 7:05 local time won't be available to move until 7:05 AM the following day, which is 9:05 AM EST.
Once the twelve-hour waiting period is up, you will be able to manipulate players as usual.
The purpose of this rule is derived from how points are accumulated. Per the rules, GM's are awarded points if a player is on their roster at the time the puck drops in a game in which the player's team is involved. Theoretically, a GM could add a player for a 7:00 EST start, then drop him at 8:00 EST and acquire a player who is playing in a 9:00 EST (Mountain time) game. This rule prevents the "gaming" of the system in that way.
