Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

There was a guy the other day standing on a street corner in a "V for Vendetta" mask with a cardboard sign that said "FILM THE POLICE." Reminded me of Flaggy.

Anyone who had May 6 in the "when will FlagDude's description match the content" pool: better luck next time.

Yes that's exactly what happened.

Wow, the guy was a pretty dangerous criminal and deserved to be cuffed. Holy crap, what if those folks and cops ever went to a really heated city council meeting in any number of cities?

They could call the cops on quite a few condo association meetings as well. :D

Well, in Albuquerque, the police chief would be handed a citizen's arrest.

Which "Constitutiional protection" are you referring to? The one that entitles her to not comply with insurance requirements? Or the one that permits her to resist arrest? Or the one that permits her to ignore about 50 warnings that she's about to get tasered? The next time, I think the b*tch be doing what the officer tells her to do.

How about the one where she must be informed of the reason for her arrest, something which has been upheld by the Supreme Court?

You don't have to be told of the charges until your initial appearance/arraignment/whatever it's called in your jurisdiction. Nothing in the federal constitution requires an officer to tell you at the time of arrest.

Devenpeck v. Alford, 543 U.S. 146, 155 (2004)("While it is assuredly good police practice to inform a person of the reason for his arrest at the time he is taken into custody, we have never held that to be constitutionally required.")

Flaggy apparently gets his constitutional law from Law & Order episodes.

There's plenty of time for that after she complies with his instructions.

IIRC there is a time limit (48 hrs?) between arrest and arraignment, otherwise they have to release you.

There is also a time limit, at least in NYS, of getting an arrest warrant.
