Elmira College Vs. Oswego

Re: Elmira College Vs. Oswego

...Meant to post this here, but messed up and put it in the regular season thread after my computer screwed up on me.

Looks like the same jerseys as the home ones except they're green. Thankfully they aren't black as Oswego never seemed to perform well with those the last 2 years.

Ticket prices went up this year I see. It used to be $6 for adults at Oswego State hockey games at the CC.

I remember in class last year Gosek was trying to impress upon us that $6 wasn't much for a hockey game/entertainment for the night. I certainly agree with this (altho being a student, I never had to pay) but $8 does seem to be a bit pricey, especially for families. 15 home games - that's an extra $30 per person for the season.

Currently, I won't be going to the CC on Friday as I have a wedding to attend in Auburn. However, I am planning on making the trip to the Domes on Saturday for the back end of the home and home doubleheader.

I am stunned to hear this news. A certain former WTOP Sport Director and I are going to be making our way up north and we had thought it was all but a certainty you would be there. I suppose a wedding is a good enough excuse tho... However, Auburn is just 40 minutes away, 30 with the way you drive. Just sayin.

Anyways, does anyone know what the Lakers' alternate jerseys look like this year (or if there even is one)?

Greene's is a nice bar/grille to go to that usually gets some of the parents before the games. It's the closest thing to a hockey bar Oswego has and the owner is a pretty cool guy;)

He usually does drink and food specials on all game nights.

Corner of Bridge Street and West 8th, right next to Sub Shop. Check it out:cool:

I'm biased because the owner of the restaurant is a family friend, but I highly recommend Canales. I'm racking my brain to think of a better restaurant in upstate NY, but I'm coming up empty. They sell the sauce in jars too so get some to take home with you.

I have to agree. Greene's is the place to be on a day when the Lakers are in action. The food is great, they have the best beer selection in town (wine too, but I don't drink the stuff), and Jabber is mad cool.

I have always thought that while Canale's was nice, it was a bit pricey and also a bit overrated. The food is good, but I think Greene's is much more bang for your buck.

That may be true. My friends who own the place have never charged me to eat there so I guess I wouldn't know. We always offer to pay but they do the whole "you're money is no good here" routine. Anyway, I'll defer to the Oswego people on this one because I have only eaten at Canale's (which as I said before gets a thumbs up from me), but I haven't eaten at the other places being discussed so I can't say one is better than the other.

Greene's for Christ's sake! You're going to a hockey game after, not an opera. Greene's will get you <s>drunk</s> ready.

Re: Elmira College Vs. Oswego

I just noticed that Saturday nights game is a 7:30 start rather than the normal 7. Anyone know why?

Go EC

So the puck bunnies get there for faceoff instead of missing the first period doing their make up.
