Elmira College Soaring Eagles 2010-2011 Season Thread

Oswego tried that several years ago during the SUNYAC playoffs ...that didn't go over well. Part of me thinks you're right Derek with the "how many would actually go" from my calculations Elmira only averaged 1014 this year with only 5 Jackle games interfering over the 13 games. 3 of those 5 games were above average attendance.

So the likelihood of nearly 1/4 of the Elmira fans showing up on a one game 8 hour trip is probably not good. But for all we know maybe Adrian asked and Elmira said no thanks you sell them. If they gave Elmira 2 full sections of seats, that alone says a lot about Adrian. That was my point with th 50 seats/ 150 standing room ticket post. How they got them and or made sure it was for Elmira fans is another issue. Had it been a bigger traveling teams fans there might be more of an issue. Something Adrian might want to think about the next time.

Concerns or confusion about the process at this point are unfounded, unless fans wanting tickets are being refused.
There have been no such claims from Elmira fans that I'm aware of.

I can confirm that Adrian season ticket holders have been refused tickets to accomodate our guests from Elmira.

I guess you will have to wait for the Elmira fans to report on how they were treated, and their assesment of Adrian's ability to administer ticket sales and host this game with class.

Good luck to both teams and NL, you know I respect the Adrian team and what they have accomplished. I actually met one of the parents of one of the seniors at the NSB Tourney this year and he was very knowledgable of the game and great to talk with at the games and while watching a world junior game at a local pub afterwards.

Anyone interested in meeting and leaving from there, let me know or just show up around 7…

OK< Here's my $0.02 worth. Let's not forget that it's not just Elmira "fans" from the Elmira area, every one of the those players (and support staff, coaches) have family, (normally) two parents, maybe a couple of siblings, a girlfriend,College Administration, grandparents, times this by the number of players it adds up quite fast, take in maybe 20-30 regular fans and the numbers could easily be up around the 200 mark.
I would love to go but a big issue for us is our dog, can't leave him alone in the house for just about 24hrs straight.
I agree, the Adrian people posting on here have been very friendly, unlike some fans from other teams over the years.

sounds like we'll be about a half hour behind you. Where are you guys staying? TTF got us a great deal on a place in Toledo. We'll stop there, check in, then head to Frickers in Adrian for some chow and beers.

...the Adrian Women will be playing RIT at RIT at 3:00 pm. Also, the Adrian ACHA Div I Mens team is just returning from the U of Delaware and the ACHA Div I National finals.

Oh man, are you guys gonna reeeeaally hate ME this weekend (or, I am going to have a really bad day)!! I might as well go for the trifecta and claim to be a U-of-Delaware supporter as well!! (j/k!!)

I will try to be good... can’t promise, but I’ll sure try! As I replied to kimmer in the other thread, “the Boy” will keep me in-line. But then again, he has been with me in the past when I’ve ‘lost it’!

It’s more “the Wife” that keeps me in control. She won’t sit with me at the games... always a few rows down and a couple seats over, but when I cross the line, her stare will hit me from the other side of the rink! She never did appreciate the sodomy cheer, or “He fell down! He can’t skate!... [I won't type the rest]”. I’m not sure her gaze will get me from a few hundred miles away, but I really don’t think I want to risk it either!!

Having said all that, she really is a sweetheart though! Hell, she put-up with me all these years!!

(And no, that doesn't mean everyone here is a sweetheart, even though you have been putting-up with me too!)

You guys are killing me, I really wish I could make this trip but it just wasn't meant to be. I hope everyone has a great time and that the EC fans will show the Adrian fans that we're not "A bunch of farmers driving around on tractors" ( I hope there's a ton of Cow bells though!

Transplanted Tiger Fan, I talked to the manager at Frickers and he is now on the lookout for the Elmira Fans. I told him to expect from 10 to 200 at approximately 4:00 and he responded that the Fire Marshall will only allow 167. They will be open at 11:00 am and he said he would bring in 2 extra staff members for the Soaring Eagles. No reserved seats. See you tomorrow.

Awesome! Can’t say for sure how many will be there. I would estimate the USCHO contingent of Elmira fans that will show-up to be under 25, but I suppose there’s probably a lurker or two out there as well. I will have mobile access, so we’ll monitor the various threads as we get closer in the event the Manager has to padlock the doors. (And don’t go thinking about getting us all there and locking us in for the game either!!)

And let the Manager know there’s no need to order extra kegs... as the driver, I must behave.

Haven't you teached the kid how to steer a straight line yet? I got forty acres here that you could use to show it how it's done. You would want something set up for mudding right now.
