  • EC's team defense especially around the net could be better
  • EC gave up two goals on three penalties
  • Good to have the strong hands of Collins back
  • Still no sighting of Love. On the roster, but not dressed in forever.
  • Much too many errant passes completed to players dressed in orange

I saw Love up in the stands when I was selling 50/50 tickets. All you need to do is look for the Fro..go with the fro!

Brockport v. Elmira

Brockport extends their unbeaten streak (2nd longest in the nation to Lake Forest - eat your heart out Fornax) against a shaky Soaring Eagle team

Positives:
  • Despite AFC playoff, great crowd, some students my guess is 1250
  • Good puck movement in the offensive zone
  • Tons of Grade A shots
Opportunities for improvement:
  • Faceoffs - B'port probably won 75%
  • The backcheck and play in the defensive end was abysmal
  • Giveaways - especially in their own zone
  • Ill-advised penalties coupled with one of the worst PK in D3 is a recipe for disaster
  • Dickinson yells constantly throughout the game. He's going to have a stroke soon.

This ref Mark Zilliox is horrible and he has an attitude a mile long to boot. EC had an off night.

That's wat I figured but I haven't seen anything bout it.... I don't kno if they would do it that night sense that's supposed to be senior night as well

From what I've heard, there won't be an wounded warrior game this year.
 
Oswego (alias: the college hockey team for D1 rejects) v. EC

Oswego (alias: the college hockey team for D1 rejects) v. EC

  • Decent crowd in the 1200 range with about 100 students
  • Coach started DeMelo over Mags; things that make you go hhhmmmmm.
  • Love was back in the lineup, and it showed. Perhaps love does make all the difference!?
  • First 7-8 minutes EC looked like their old self ... then a different team emerged.
  • Good Oswego contingent ... maybe 50 or so.
  • EC struggled to solve Oswego's penalty kill. Generated few decent chances on the PP.
  • Game was one of spurts. Oswego would dominate for a few minutes, then EC would sieze the initiative for awhile.
  • Great flow to the game ... refs let them play most of the night.
  • Only exception - Everett (My least favorite official) on his last night as an active ref - calls a questionable slash with 3 minutes to go, after eating his whistle on a dozen more egregious infractions. That PP, EC would not kill.
  • Taulien simultaneously possesses some of the best skills on the team, while committing the dumbest penalties conceivable.
  • Great to see the team [finally] play with passion and intensity

That was his final game, pre-game ceremony with 'Wego giving him a Jersey? The craziest call I have heard in a while was the (EC) 5 mins. for interference. Shortly after, another in a play involving DeMelo, an interference call against Oswego but just a 2 min. :rolleyes:

reffing is not going to be a strong suit as far as d3 is concerned,that said we all have to suck it up at times and shake our heads and hopefully no one gets hurt:eek:

It was like watching two different teams between Friday and Saturday. Fridays EC team could not score in a whorehouse with a Visa gold card. Saturday they passed, shot and scored. Night and day.
