Elections 2012: Congressional and Gubernatorial

Re: Elections 2012: Congressional and Gubernatorial

Knuckledragger. Yeah, I'm the backwards one between us.

LOL
I thought for a moment that the problem with STDs and STIs would be something that folks of different political philosophies could say is something we need to work on and educate on and reduce. But, people like you remind me to never assume even something basic and obvious for our nation's welfare can rise above innane partisan politicking. You aren't Foxton in disguise are you? Not that I'd expect you to be honest enough to admit it if you were. Actually, with each classless post you make, you make the decision easy. You are the second person on my ignore list. Good riddance. That tidies up this thread nicely.

He encourages turning people into zombies by forcing medication on them to no end. I bet his son now becomes dumber and lazier because of the side effects of the vaccination; I know it happened to me with forced college vaccinations.

Is that what you believe happens?

Says more about you than me.

Knuckledragger indeed.

BTW, the GOP LOVES people like you. Bread and butter.

Re: Elections 2012: Congressional and Gubernatorial

I love it how in some situations people tout education to no end as being the answer to fixing problems or at least a major part of the solution. But there's an epidemic of STDs and STIs out there, there's far too little media coverage or widespread education efforts and knuckledraggers like Gurtholfin have nothing to say beyond a snide comment about abstinence education. You make teenagers more aware of STDs and STIs, the risks of numerous sexual partners, etc. and it might reduce the 8-10 million teenagers a year who contract an STD.

I don't know. Maybe people just don't care. Like they don't care about the mountain of debt that's being created for our kids.
In our High School it's a required class for graduation, but they still seem to ignore the information.

Re: Elections 2012: Congressional and Gubernatorial

I bet that the 21 year old with cervical cancer and her family wishes at this point that it had been "forced on her."

Of course, I'm sure some will blame it on her instead for having sex. Wait for it....

What else do you think caused it? Gnomes?

Typical libtard with absolutely no sense of what actually happens in the world...

And it's not even a knuckledragger website. It's much closer to your libtard beliefs than you'd think.

It would depend on how well it is taught i would guess. When I was in high school we had a pretty powerful comprehensive sex education class that was required (not taught as "abstinence only") that without a doubt made me think long and hard about sexual health and activity.

I think if kids have the real information they will be able to make better decisions and will actually be less likely to need the free condoms.

Re: Elections 2012: Congressional and Gubernatorial

****. We had sex ed from like four grade through HS. Obviously they don't about the act of sex with fourth graders, But you start the education process that early.

Bob I'm not sure what you're advocating here, but I don't think a lack of education is the problem. Could it be like a lot of high school subjects the little bahstids just aren't retaining what they're learning in some cases? Even back in the stone age when I was in high school all this info was taught in health class, and we did hear the "you're having sex with everyone your partner had sex with" even back then.

I suspect the problem a lot of libs have is abstinence only policies not because we want more kids to get in on but because the effectiveness of this rigid policy is up for considerable debate.

Let me put it another way. Remember when you were 17. Now, look:

Abstinence education?

Yeah. Right.

No sense of what happens in this world?

Kids will have sex.

Much of it unprotected no matter what we do or say.

Some, will acquire hpv.

Some women (girls) who acquire hpv will get cervical cancer as a result and many of those will die.

Do I have a grasp of that part?

Now, we could stick our heads in the sand and pretend that it doesn't happen. We could assume that only the sluts (those who deserve it) will get it.

Or, we could educate kids about about it and assuming that kids will make poor decisions, we could also vaccinate them for it.

We already require a multitude of vaccinations for kids to attend school. Why is this one different? Oh yeah, coz it's in regards to *GASP* sex.

It's not like getting this vaccine will protect kids from EVERY std, so the argument of this promoting sex is invalid.

If a vaccine could save some women from the horror of cervical cancer (and men (and women) from the horror of genital warts ), then I'm not sure how anyone could argue against it.

Many kids are going to have sex. Even kids of parents who raise em right. ;)

So because some children will make poor decisions means we have to punish every single one by forcing toxic chemicals into their bodies? I certainly hope that your son, when he becomes an adult, never speaks to you again because you tried to kill him due to your lack of trust in his better judgment.

I'm just gonna assume that you're kidding.

Re: Elections 2012: Congressional and Gubernatorial

With anyone but your spouse, yes.

According to Wiki: Promiscuity, in human sexual behavior, is the practice of casual sex with multiple sexual partners.

According to Webster: characterized by or involving indiscriminate mingling or association, especially having sexual relations with a number of partners on a casual basis.

According to joecct: With anyone but your spouse, yes.

What's magical about marriage in this equation? What if you're in a long-term, monogamous relationship?

You don't get to just make up definitions.

When's the last time you saw a news story on STDs?

Exactly.

I know you won't see this coz I'm on ignore, but I've seen a few stories lately about how Gonorehea (sp?) is now resistant to every antibiotic except one and that more needs to be done to prevent it's transmission.

Too bad there isn't a vaccine or something. Although if it's bacterial, then a vaccine wouldn't be possible?

It's been in the news.

Good Lord, talk about derp. Hope you broke out the ceremonial tinfoil for that statement.

Baby boomers and Gen-Xers are absolutely insistent upon punishing Gen-Y for something they didn't do, and only because Baby boomers and Gen-Xers happened to be stupid. Gen-Y then acts out because, if they're going to be punished, they might as well do something to deserve it.

You can't walk out of a marriage without going through legal hoops. You can easily walk out of an LTMR.

And marriage is ingrained on the human psyche for a heck of a long time. Society (until recently) valued marriage highly, desired that marriages be stable and gave financial advantages to married couples over those, to use a vulgar term, "shacking up".

The current world is not the world that my parents and their parents and on back grew up in. Morality should not be redefined every 10-20 years.
