Election Results Thread

Re: Election Results Thread

I don't believe you. This is a red country. We got lulled with all the Presidential wins by Dems since Clinton but it's a mirage. State houses, school boards, and everything else has been red all along. That's not going to change. Doesn't matter what Trump does. The Democrats will spend the next two years whining and the Republicans will gain seats in 2018 and will win reelection in 2020.

Time to get used to living in this country as it is and quite dreaming that it might actually be different.

Supreme Court is gone now as well. For decades. 30 years of conservative rule there will continue for another two generations.

It cant be denied anymore. I mean this isnt even close and he will have unfettered power thanks to a spineless GOP Congress.

Minnesota and Illinois are the only original Big Ten schools to go blue.

Re: Election Results Thread

This is just a big **** You to the Obama's.

Wrong. It's a (#*$( you to Hillary, and the Clintons, and the Bushes, and every other political family "dynasty" in this country who ever said, "It's My Turn!!". That is the perception.

I voted for Hillary, and I get it. I dislike these #$(*%(*ing lofo voters who did it, but I get it.

Re: Election Results Thread

Handy

If the trends hokd..

When in doubt, stick to the truth. Despite all the advantages, Mrs. Clinton blew it. How she blew it will be the subject of many a dissertation.

I don't hink this is a case of somebody was defeated. Somebody lost.

Oh she blew it...dont misunderstand me. Remember I am a Bernie guy I chose her only cause Drumpf is horrible.

The problem is who do the Dems have for 4 years from now? Warren? Bernie again? No chance.

It looks like total votes are down...just what we said she couldnt afford.

Re: Election Results Thread

it's not a red country. It's a country where a lot of people have been kicked down and left for dead by the elitist powers that be, told they don't matter, and they better get used to it. The party that tells them they do matter, and gets them back on their feet again is the party that they will support. Right now, they don't think the Dems are that party, and the Repubs are, because they're so desperate for anything they've bought the lies.

But the Repubs have to follow through, and they won't. The Dems have to reiterate those promises and then make them happen. That's how you build a constituency.

And it's not even close. If Biden had run this race was called hours ago and I'm in bed.

The powerbrokers have a lot to answer for. Biden would have won in a landslide.

The Dems need to start concentrating on winning back the state houses. DWS had her eyes always set on DC, forgetting that the minor leagues frequently get promoted to the bigs.

I just hoped we, as a nation, would be smart enough to choose a dynasty over the KKK's candidate. But we should have seen this coming after the downfall of Jeb. Since 2008 this year was supposed to be Hillary v Jeb and we all laughed as Trump just tossed Jeb to the wayside with insults and elementary humor. I don't know why I doubted the same thing could happen to Hillary. I guess I just assumed Dems and independents were smart enough to see the danger and wouldn't give it a second thought to vote blue.

Your 2nd paragraph is spot on. Everytime the GOP promises reform, they get seduced by the Dark Side and screw it up.

Which is why Dean was so good at that job.

Re: Election Results Thread

Think that if you want but it's Obama's legacy that suffers here, not the Clinton's.

I doubt it does much. Woodrow Wilson's legacy doesn't seem hurt much by the Republicans that came after him and ****ed things up. Clinton's legacy wasn't hurt after Bush came and ****ed things up. Obama will only look better when Trump ****s everything up.

As did I. We should be smart enough, but the Democrats/urbans were apathetic, and the Republicans/rurals were motivated.

I have this nagging feeling that, for some strange reason, both parties looked at their respective candidate pools this year and said * it, let's concentrate on 2020.

Re: Election Results Thread

As I posted weeks ago, Hell is too good a place for Hillary to spend eternity if she could not find a way to convince enough of the voters to vote for her. Had she not run, I can't imagine this not being a democratic landslide with literally any other democratic candidate if that democrat ran against Trump. For good reasons or bad, she was so a known hated commodity that even the single worst candidate to run on a major party ticket for president in perhaps the history of the country could beat her. We talk about the fact that the republicans put party ahead of country all the time on this forum. Well Hillary put her personal glory ahead of country in a big way.

Re: Election Results Thread

I'm almost feeling physically ill at this time. Like I'm going to puke.

Re: Election Results Thread

He can't run. He's over. The country said **** everything you did.

Agreed. He was out stumping for her...the country went against him.

Think about this...Michigan is voting for a Party that has poisoned them.
