Election Day 2025

I would say the big question that Republicans are going to have to ask themselves is if they can get the Hispanic vote back, and how are they going to do that?

Of course that assumes elections will happen in the future. The jury is still out on that.

The question the Democrats have to ask is what they can do on "affordability" to engender loyalty and not the flip flopping that has been happening in elections. Despite how evil Republicans are to the core.

Except none of those people showed up to vote last night. Trump voters stayed home because they already won. Trump is still in office, destroying America as we speak. They’ll be back in 2028 to vote for him again. The lies they’re being told will, as always, work.
Last night was Democrats showing up in force, because they fucked around and found out last year. We can hope the same demographic shows up to vote when it matters far more next year.
That is another way to state what I just stated above.

There are vast amber waves of Karens stretching throughout this land, their bright blue eyes focused on the Bible and their pure blonde hair blowing like corn silk in the dewy Prairie morning. I'll be in my bunk.
Meh, sounds incredibly boring. I'll go for the brunette punk rock girl any day over that, and I have very little punk cred.

The other problem with the Karens in these off-cycle years is they only vote when it's a major election and/or they have some trumped up social issue that their friend group has them in a lather about (usually involving "Please think about the children!"). So that inflates the vote share for whichever party is victorious (usually the one out of power).

As long as the Gestapo is beating up and kidnapping anyone that looks slightly tan you might as well ask "what can Hitler do to win back the Jews".

The Dems need to go hard on taxing the rich and keep showing how opulent The Right us acting while starving them out.
Hell most of the GOP is doing it out in the open...dont just wait for the news to cover it do it yourself. The Sean Duffy quote about shutting down air travel to punish the Dems should be everywhere.

Keep fighting and tack left and The Midterms could get really ugly for the GOP. Stick to your principles...dont sell out like Schumer and losers like Ezra Klein.

No, it isn't. They aren't going to change their policies or rhetoric, so the question for Republicans is, "How do we suspend, cancel, fiddle with, and/or otherwise finagle the 2026 mid-term election?"

JFC some of you sound like the NYT opinion section.
Well they weren't posting last night so they are probably reading or watching "analysis" from mediocre sources. They sound a lot like how CNN and MSNBC sounded. :ROFLMAO:

It ignores a lot of demographic information or the expected outcomes.

I have seen very little from people who follow elections saying turnout was lower than expected (in some places it was way up) so did a bunch of Dems just turn 18 or did the Independents and some GOP vote Blue? (The answer is Independents fled Left in droves and in some GOP areas especially Virginia and Pennsylvania a non insignificant number of GOPers did as well)

I mean 2 days ago the NJ Governor Race was in serious doubt...and it became a rout. Must be the China ballots. ;)

Look does it mean the future is locked? Of course not I am not Rover. But some of you are buying into the spoonfed narrative by the very people who want you to feel this way and have been pushing it for weeks.

The California Proposition winning by such a huge margin might well be the most important and significant result of the night. It was a loud and clear message by the people to Democrats in blue states of “fuck this bullshit, take off the gloves and fight!” It’s a massive green light to go ahead and fight dirty.
"Stop bringing a knife to a gunfight.

PS: That's a butter knife, you idiots."

I still expect corporate Democrats to fold a winning hand. They're the Washington Generals of politics: paid to show up and lose.

It did not go poorly. It went very well. What that means beyond this specific election, we can never know, and anyone who tries to infer too much is guessing. Much can happen in one or three years, and it is the legwork of what is done before then that will ultimately matter then, not what we try to extrapolate right now.

This Democrat gets it.

Look, if Trump destroying this country root and stem, like anyone with a functioning brain and even a scintilla of interest in American politics knew would happen if he won again, means that our lazy, stupid electorate actually shows up and starts voting out Republicans in anger, even the “moderate” ones like Susan Collins and her enabling ilk, great, I’m here for it. Thanks for showing up a year late when the dictator is already in office, but hey, better than nothing. Show up next year and vote out more Republicans, though. They all suck. They’re all complicit. I hope the fuckasses out there who voted last night but didn’t in 2024 remember that for 2026 and beyond.

I do not believe women writ large will be dependably +60. Maybe women in the West Village.

This was across the entire NYC, VA, and NJ elections. This isn’t west village only.
